Update from PSU help.

UPDATE

Okay so I finally bought my PSU and installed it. I went with a Black Widow 550W modular. Works like a charm.

Now that I got the PSU in I need to figure out what GPU I want. I was thinking of getting a PNY 9800 GT. http://www3.pny.com/9800-GT-1024MB-PCIe-P2727C331.aspx#Specifications

Thoughts? I've got 512mb RAM and a core 2 duo processor operating at 1.86 ghz each.

Also, your current system won't really be a beast at any games with the specs you have. The processor would hold back a better video card if you were to buy one. But just know that by spending the money on a 9800GT now you are leaving little room for future playability.

What are you planning to do with the system?. The 9800 GT is a decent card, but if your doing a lot of heavy gaming, then i would look elsewhere. The rest of the system sounds pretty subpar, definitely look into more RAM and maybe overclock that Core 2 Duo, or buy a faster one.

I'll probably get one of the 2 gb cards. That way I'll have 2.5 gigs of ram. I think that and the 9800 GT would be good enough for now. Maybe I can get another gig of RAM this summer. Wouldn't you agree?

3Gb of RAM is alright(you need DDR2 RAM), and do you have a budget?

The 9800 GT is an ok card, but there is always the GTX 260 or 4890(or even a 5770), which will give you much more performance in games. Also, the 9800 GT is just a rebadged 8800 GT, it has a smaller die then the 8800 GT hence it runs a bit cooler, but same in performance. The 9800 GTX is performs better, but not by much.

To put it simply,GDDR is the type of memory used on a video card. It can range from GDDR to GDDR5, the higher the type the higher the bandwidth.

The 9800 GTX is a decent card, but it's definitely not the best cheap card you can get for gaming, if your willing to spend a little more there always this nice Zodiac GTX 260:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500145&cm_re=gtx_260-_-14-500-145-_-Product

But if your only going to be using a video card temporarily as you said, then the 9800 GTX/9800 GT is a good pick for the time being.

You don't need to invest in more RAM. 2GB is fine for now because it's not like you're ever gonna be playing Crysis on this setup. I play whatever I want with 2GB, Crysis was the only game that got choppy because I only have 2GB, everything else is fine.
