That's not bad...what was the load, and what temps did it hit under the stock cooler at the same speed/volts?

I like how futurelooks.com did a review on this in December.
If you look at the graph, I see an anomaly:

Spot the stock cooler temp?
CPU is a X4 965

Can you say "CPU is fried"?
:p

Mailman, your wife must be disappointed (she did give you the cooler as a Christmas gift, no?), BUT learned a valuable lesson: TT = crap even if it seems they made something good.

I dont think thats true. Anyway she got the SpinQ from bestbuy so when I went to return it they just put some Corsair H50's on the floor for the same price! I figured WTF why not. Now I love me some WC!! Tonight Im going to clean off the stock thermal grease and put on some OCS freeze.

I like mine - it may not be up there with the TRUE or NH-D14 or whatever else, but it looks a lot better :p

A word of warning though, my rad was full of dust after about 6 weeks, seems to clog up pretty fast.

The 965 is rated at 62c max..

My lack of knowledge regarding AMD CPUs has been exposed then. The shame! But that is a very "low" temp. Seeing as my old P4 was operating around 80c and still is alive and running.

Check with AMD HERE.
It's quite true.

That' can't be right, it must be max temp achieved with the stock cooler in their test labs.

If it is true, then people wouldn't be able to overclock their AMD processors.

It's true for sure, which is why it's imperative that a good cooler is used when OCing this baby.
In an earlier thread I already raved about the suckiness of the stock cooler.
Even today, I find it hard to do much at all with it still in the system, which is why I'm getting a proper cooler soon.
It's summer here, and my system idles at 43c. My 5850 idles at 38c. Go figure.
Under load, I'm sure I've already fried my CPU as well, when OCed - ran at 66c (72c Core) for about 10 minutes, before the fan (controlled by the CPU) finally decided to run at 100%, which brought the temp down to a barely usable 61c
Crud.
Not OCing until I get the new cooler..

It has to be said, though, that the temps in the Phenoms are an estimate at best. AMD states that the temp measurement calculation(!) is such:
measured temp / 8
Nice formula.
Why not use the actual temperature measured, rather than use maths to work out what it actually is?
