Hi everyone! I am going to make this as short as possible. Its kind of a emergency... alright? So please be precise and please help as much as you can!
For nearly 1 week, I was trying to repair my parent's friend computer from BSOD. The computer is using Windows XP Pro SP3 (32-Bit). However, it got hit with BSOD at random time!
Here is his specs and its from PC Specialist. But, the warranty is outdated!:shadedshu
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 (3.00GHz) 1333MHz FSB/6MB L2 Cache
Motherboard: ASUS P5KPL-AM - Socket 775
GPU Graphics: INTEGRATED GRAPHICS ACCELERATOR (GPU)
Sound Card: ONBOARD 7.1 CHANNEL - HIGH DEF AUDIO
Memory: 2GB CORSAIR DUAL-DDR2 800MHz
PSU: THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER W0106RB PSU 700W
1st HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR 320GB SATA2 8MB
Now here is the problem...
My parent's friend has been using his computer for nearly a year. The BSOD develops at around 8 months. After that, it got worse! At some point, the computer gives off 5 BSOD a day and it really bugs him and me! Here is what I did and analyzed.
Notes: For safety, I've been using Crocodile Clip Wristband to avoid killing the computer.
1.] I've tested the both 1x2GB RAM + 1GB Ram each. All scans are Passed! No errors occurs on the memory.
Software: MemTest86+ Bootable Disk.
2.] The CPU is fine and it has 12V Rail. If it is BUGGY, then the PSU will shut the entire computer down like a broken light-bulb! So... it is fine...
3.] I've reinstall the OS and update windows + latest drivers for the computer. However, there is BSOD...
P.S. I've tested his operating systems in my workplace with the exact driver setup, hardware and everything. After that, I work on it for hours and hours alongside the CRAZY computer that causes the evil BSOD.
The results on my test computer? No BSOD...
Strangely enough, the other one has BSOD...:shadedshu
4.] The hard drive is very healthy! I use HD Tune to check the hard drive... nothing wrong with it!
To sum this all up... is it the faulty CPU + Motherboard?
Please reply...
