Hey thats Black Mesa Source, they have been making that since they original Half Life 2 actually came out.

I followed it and the other projects for years, Opposing source and Blue Shift for canned but this was always just SLOW! Nice to see its finally playable.

Damn i would pay for this title!

Apparently not! Though of course it's much more understandable and less pathetic when it's on-their-own-unpaid-time modders who often never even meet in person who don't/can't come through as promised with a game. You know, as opposed to a professional game studio (and in Duke's case one with nearly unlimited funds/resources at least for awhile).

How can you be a huge half life fan if you are not interested in this mod? Im just saying because its a Half Life 1 remake what isnt exciting about that!

It's cool, but i really am eager to get my hands on the next iteration of Half-Life (EP3). This is cool and all, but i have already played it, and im not a graphics freak like most (tho i do love me some nice graphics), i played all the Half-Life games cause they were great in nearly everything, the combination of the great story and environments. That's what i'm looking forward to, not a rehash of the same game with tuning up visuals.

But, if this is a free download. I'll be trying it out.

Its got new weapons, graphics, sounds, character models, better enemies, better AI, havok physics.

Man i cant wait for ep3 that game is long overdue but its meant to be a bit long not like ep1/2.

It is free thats what is great about this mod.

Fair enough :) Yeah I'm an eye candy whore. Also, and this is hard to admit, I never finished half life so this will be a good opportunity to do that as well.

I'm definitely gonna play it co-op over my LAN with my friends!!!!

It's such a classic game that many of the newer gamers have missed out on it, so this is great!

I still have a hard time believing that there will be a true co-op mode through the single-player campaign!?!

Why not? The original Unreal, just to name one, did it 12 years ago an people still play. :) Yeah that would add a whole new awesome element to playing Black Mesa for sure!

lol What do you expect from a game released in 1998?, at the time it looked amazing.

I'd be like not playing Quake because the gun models didn't look cool enough.

In my opinion, HL1 is a better game than HL2 in many ways. HL1 was one of the most amazing first-person shooter games ever released on the PC in the 90's.. Sin was another cool game and I was also partial to Kingpin.

The end boss of HL1 was cool and memorable. But I think it was the beginning (the opening) of HL1 that struck me with the result of pea-sized drool drops.
