"Nvidia will take the wraps off their fancy new DirectX 11 graphics card tomorrow night. Ahead of the embargo's expiry a number of videos have leaked out, showing real-time ray tracing, tessellation, and Far Cry 2 running at significantly faster framerates when compared to the GeForce GTX 360.

If you want to plonk down many hundreds of dollars for one, you'll have to hold your horses 'til March. In the meantime, click below to see the vids."

I was not really that impressed with Far Cry 2 myself either. I played it for about all of 10 minutes, got disgusted with it and the "spawn closet" BS, quickly uninstalled it and sold it off at a loss. That will teach me to buy a Far Cry game again that's for sure. -_-

Heck, I did'nt like Crysis either but at least that one was enjoyable enough to play thru and finish where Far Cry 2 is more like a "OMG! Look at us! We can do pretty GFX and benchmarks too! LOLOL!" *insert retching sounds here*

They are not talking about GeForce 300 but they are talking about GeForce 400.
In one part he says 3x GeForce 400 when the other guy asks him what's inside the PC.
Although they haven't displayed anything new that AMD hasn't done already. Tesselation that is, but that water looked like crap. Waves movement was nicer and more smooth in Crysis.
Only hair physics were really nice. Can't wait to see ingame characters having such hair instead of static blobs...

not impressed, makes me all the more happy i'm switching to amd, my gtx 285 is a nice card don't get me wrong it plays everything i could ever throw at it just fine, but other than the fancy hair thing, it really wasn't that impressive. Show me 2560x1600 crysis max settings at 90+ fps and i'll be impressed, cause thats what it seems its gonna take to slow down the train amd is riding on right now.

same as me, my 9800gt SLI seems fine on everything, 30+FPS on crysis 1980X1080 v.high if this thing can do 80+FPS then i might consider it but seriously games can't even take advantage of half the power we have due to their poor Coding

If far cry 2 was running at 2560x1600 at 8xmsaa, then that would be an amazing result, but 1920x1200 w/ 8xmsaa doesn't put it much higher than 15%-20% above a hd5870. Although that's the expected performance tbh.

yea but that's a huge jump in resolution
1440x900: 1,296,000 pix
1920x1080:2,073,600 pix

and doesn't AA multiply the resolution around edges to smooth them, so at 1920x1080 it'd demand more at 8xmsaa than at 1440x900.

i think :p

Might be the gtx360 though, although the OP makes it sound that the card on the right (the 40-50fps one) is the gtx 360. if that is the case, nvidia is well and truly sunk. So i don't think it is, they aren't that useless. Losing frame rates from one gen to the next is just not going to happen.

And yes, AA does get more demanding as resolution scales, but that doesn't make these apparent results any less bad if they are at 1920x1200.

i belive its time based, ... one will just have displayed more frames in the same amount of time.

Like 6 months behind the curve, late to the party means getting hammered by a 2ND Strike.
