P55 CPU socket

Hey guys. I keep reading about good and bad CPU sockets on P55 mbs.
I know the Foxconn ones are not good, but how does one find out which is used on a mb? Especially as we tend to order online, where you don't get to play with the hardware.

Its only extreme overclocking when it would burst into flames i wouldn't worry about it too much.

You got a 50/50 chance on getting a Foxconn Socket instead of a Lotes. I believe the mobo's that are set up for Sata 6gb and usb 3.0 are doing all Lotes sockets. But, I'm not 100% on that since I haven't seen to many people grab up those types yet..


The socket myth is only for the fact of people OCing the chip to extreme measures.. If you do the mild 4ghz stable, you should be fine with foxconn Socket. I know a few people here that got the foxconn and there's made contact with the chip on every mark.. Even a "testing" board from MSI was deemed as being connected 100%..

Like I told 20mm, it's the luck of the draw on the socket.. If it doesn't leave marks on more then 10 squares, on the chip, then you would need to think about RMAing the board..

But, from TPU, I haven't seen a person yet that has had problems with their Foxconn Socketed P55 Boards..
