OK well my XSPC Res/Pump went out and ive found several pumps for a good price but they will not match up to this res SO ive been thinking that maybe i can MOD this res to work with the additinal pump BUT maintain the readiness of a replacement pump if need be.

OK heres is the dead motor

As you can see i have gutted the motor housing for the pump

It will not leak (ive already did some pressure testing) so im good there

What ive been thinking is taking a large drill bit and opening these holes up so it gets more water flow throught the res? would this be a bad idea?

well the volute on that top is sprial..

You really dont want to get rid of that because it forces the water to attain higher head pressure then a perfect volute.

A lot of first timers freak out when they see the volute not being perfect...
