New game Dark Void - any good?

I've read a review where they knocked it heavily for being boring, but with good Unreal Engine 3 graphics.

Has anyone here played this and can say what it's like?

Stay away from it. from the 5 min's i've seen a friend play it, i can assume your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Thanks guys - that's the same sort of reaction the review had - I just wish I could remember where I saw it.

A quick google shows the various websites agreeing with each other anyway.

Regardless of that fact, Dork Void is not even good by console standards. But no where near Rouge Warrior status….

The thing is, even a rubbish game takes a lot of money, time and effort to develop, so why not do it properly? Surely they could see how it was turning out during development and improve it?

Not really good no, but i had 700 gamerscore for about 4-5 hours of gameplay

Saw the gameplay footage as well.. looks bland. Animation is b class and graphics are not that good.

Dark AVOID.. that´s all.. Why Capcom r using the Unreal engine to power this game?? they have the NT Frameworks engine + HAVOK physiscs... it looks better, and performs better, this game is only merchandising for Nvidia and the Crappy PhysX system software.

Physics has such a lot of potential to significantly enhance a game, I don't get why no decent games have been made for it. We had Half-Life 2 which was great, so why not something similar with PhysX? It's been out for ages, after all.

of course physics rules on a game! but PhysX became a monopoly with Nvidia cards, HAVOK it´s on a major games and it´s not only a single GPU usage! also i think Havok has better engine, effects, etc, than PhysX

It is simple, but when it comes to the ground action, simple works, and it's sorta passively enjoyable(whatever that means ).

It's kinda like Terminator Salvation. There's not much to it, and it is quite generic, but it's fun.

Dark Void takes a dive (no pun) with the flight/rocket pack. Even with mouse smoothing off, it's horrendous to control. The only use I found for it, was to get away from something really quickly, travel, and the occasional vertical boost to make the combat seem more interesting.

But that about sums up Dark Void - when you have to take it upon yourself to make the game seem more interesting, something is wrong.


It's a rental and nothing more.
