You will always find people who try to be self important who actually have little knowledge in forums.

I guess the real question is why are you complaining about another site's forum thread on TPU?

That's why you come to TPU. We don't run you out for bad information, we just kick you ass.

If you want accurate, timely information on hardware, this is the place to be.
You will see the occasional bad post, but for the most part TPU people are some of the most well versed, informed and knowledgable people you will find.

That, of course, may be a biased opinion from being a menber of this site.

No your biased because your in the "hit squad", but for real the site generally has this feeling that the new posters get accustomed to; you don't act like a dick you will be fine. Not that many people are like that they usually just like i said learn the atmosphere of the site and merge into it.

EDIT: Apologies it was the last post that you where referring to in the OP. The man was wrong about i7 he said it was 1366 exclusive but its not.

Lol ... I'm not biased because I am in the hit squad (which in itself is just all in fun), I am biased because I come here first for problem resolution and always get an answer fast.

Here's a simple solution to this apparantly confusing problem:
1156 processors work with 1156 boards.
1366 processor work with 1366 boards.

Read the bottom Link after clicking this link here

http://www.intel.com/design/corei7/documentation.htm

its funny the OP was asking for a CPU Upgrade, well he can get the Fastest Quad for his existing setup so he doesn't have to upgrade the motherboard.

I already know all that, I just meant that an i5 will not work on a 1366 socket. And I also know that there are 1156 i7's.

As a matter of fact I just got back from microcenter where I picked up a 920. :D

and this is where Intel screwed up- having core i7 on 1156.

The code name i7 is for top performance cpus.

A system builder should know this. People that didn't research this shouldn't build the computer in the first place.
