I'm quite 'sold' on HD5000 series. AMD/ATI did a very good job.

However, I'm disappointed with HD5450...
I was hoping to get a decent, passively cooled upgrade for my 790GX based HTPC.
However, this card seems be almost no better than HD4550/4350.

I've tried HD4350 and despite 2x more shader units, it was no better than 790GX... WTH ?

I still lack an option for a good HTPC VGA. It's not powerful enough, and one step higher in the lineup is HD5670 which is probably too powerful and has no LP (Low Profile) variant.

Do you mean 'Low Power' when you say 'LP'? Because the 5670 doesn't require extra power. And I'm sure I've seen passively cooled variants of the 5670, and even the 5750. Of course you would definitely need decent airflow for those cards.

The HD 5570 is on its way on Feb 9, 2010. It runs nice and cool with very low power draw.

It seems like the one I'm waiting for.
Especially if someone is going to release a passively cooled version.
