Well , its almost done. A few things could have been better, but all in all i think it turned out well.

marquee is on order and will be installed when it arrives, various game characters will be painted in the white circles on each side.

i have a athlon 3800x2 w/ 1 gb of ram and a gforce 7300 256 mb video card. not sure if it will be enough horsepower to run some of the chd games i will add later tho.

Very nice fritoking! And a lot of time and effort gone into that project. Cool stuff.

But may I ask you why you didnt just refurb an existing cabinet, OR, redesign making it slimmer; retro but up-to-date. After all, they were originally designed so deep to house the CRT VDU. With your flatscreen solution you could have built a much slimmer version, and at the same time, much more house friendly!

Perhaps consider a breakdown, recut, and rebuild?

well, an existing cabinet was way too pricey..at least 2x what i have in this..... and that is not a flat screen in it..its a 19 inch kds crt that a friend gave me.... i just took a sheet of glass cut to fit the cabinet and taped off the monitor position and painted the back side black.i may have 250 in this total

well... due to the 14 inches of snow friday night , my artist sister in law was unable to come down for the paint work on the side. Did get the marquee on and here is a video of it in action......if it works...lol. still having trouble getting the front end i want to use to work w/ the xarcade.... i want to have the snap files and marquees visible while scrolling thru the games..

Nice work! This is a project I have been considering for the longest time ever since I got into playing the MAME32 ROMS. Where did you get the cabinet from? Most cabinets I see don't have the speakers built on the cabinet like that.

The X-Gaming Controller is pretty sweet although a shame you didn't get the trackball for Golden Tee and MArble Madness.

its all home built. as for the controller, i was on a tight budget and found this one on andantech for about 40 less than a new one. a friend wants to build one so i may sell him this one and buy the trackball contoller.
