on hexus's i7 930 review they said this

The Westmere 6-core 32nm process is releasing on March 16, if memory serves. The NDA could be lifting sooner than that though (if there is one)...

6 x 3.33 GHz (12 threads) would be able to best 4 x 4.00 GHz quite easily...

Apparently Thuban may release April 26th alongside the 890 chipset. It might be too early for a preview/review for that, so this is most likely for a new i7 or i9 chip.

4 x 4.000 GHz = 16.000

29.975% faster if all cores are put to work.

oh snap. that's alot earlier than i thought. if that's true then its pretty plausible to lift the NDA sooner to increase interest.

The Core i9 is not a new micro-architecture. It is simply a Six-core Ci7 on a 32nm die. Just as AMD's next move is a Six-core Phenom II on a 32nm die. I can't wait to hear new information about AMD's "bulldozer" chips. Which are supposed to be a brand new micro-architecture and platform.
