Hi.

Yesterday I had a very atractive offer that I cannot decline.

Someone offered me a Microsoft Memory Mobile Mouse 8000 for a little price as $1 buck, the mouse tough, doesn't came with any accesories, just the mice.

Well, I tested it and it worked ok (I used its Bluetooth interface).

Since this mouse uses one AAA battery I took one of my TV control, I don't recall when I buy those batteries but they're duracell.

The mouse functioned OK till a couple of minutes ago when the battery runs out, I must admit that I keep the PC on for a long time (15 hrs aprox.), but I feel the battery ran out too fast (I think the battery was too old).

This is my first wireless mouse, so I wanna know the average lifespan of a mice's battery??

THX for the advices.

I have a Logicech LX8... it uses 2 AA batteries. It lasts for a few months before I have to change it. Needless to say, two AA batteries are much more powerful than one AAA battery, and it also depends on the mouse itself. My mouse doesn't emit any light at all, except for the green light under the mouse wheel when it first turns on, and the flashing red light (same light... under the mouse wheel) when the batteries are low.

It's hard to say for sure. The only true way to find out is to put a brand new battery in and see how long it lasts for yourself... stick to Duracell or Energizer, those two brands are best... or take Athlonx2's idea and get rechargable batteries.

Good question Ch@no I'm in need of a mobile mouse, possibly gaming potential grade. I'd like to hear some suggestions from some people about wireless mouses that wont set people back $40+

THX for the advices guys, I'll buy a new battery and see how much it lasts. Just for the record this mice also don't emit any light at all, just when I turned it on and when the battery ran out.

Hope the new battery lasts at least a month, paying $1 buck for it was an ultra bargain, but I really don't want to spend more much money in batteries (adding that AAA batteries are more expensive than AA).

Holy cow, that's a very nice lifespan, your mice uses AA or AAA batteries?

I have a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 and she has been on the same batteries for 2 months.
I've only had it for 2 months.
The Logitech LX7 I had would go about 2 to 3 months.
Both mice use 2 AA batts in each.

Yep, I also have a Logitech laser mouse, and have had it now for about 4 months on the same 2 AA batteries. I am, however, using the rechargeable AA's.

I have the MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000, using rechargable AAA batteries. They last me 2-3 months per charge.

And I rarely ever turn the mouse off.
