It's been a while since I've built a new PC, as I've been adding stuff/upgrading parts in my existing system shown in the specs.
Few important things to note are:
1. I want very high bang for the buck
2. For the most part, I would be playing games on it
3. I would upgrade the video card every 18 months or so, but no CF/SLI
I would be adding some parts from the old rig, such as the x-fi xtremegamer card, g15 keyboard, g5 mouse, kingston 40gb SSD and the samsung 1tb HDD
I only need to buy a CPU, Mobo, HSF, RAM, Video card, Display, PSU and Case.
These are what I have decided to buy, and I need suggestions for the rest.
1. CPU: Intel Core i5 750 (will OC as high as I can with the following cooler)
2. Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ (let me know if you suggest a better cooler, in the sense, half the price and only 10% less efficient etc.)
3. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 (USB3/SATA3 support) (any other better mobo in this price range?)
4. Video card: ATI HD5850 1GB (haven't decided on brand and model yet. suggestions?)
5. PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W PSU (suggestions? somewhere around $100 should do. cheaper the better, without sacrificing quality)
6. Case: Cooler Master 690 (I need a lot of room, easy installation, hard drives accessible from side, but not much flashy items)
7. Display: Some 22" should do. I need a very cheap LCD. I'm thinking about adding more to get eyefinity working, so I was wondering if a resolution of 1680x1050 is the way to go, because i will never use the very best of graphics cards NOR CF. probably, i will buy an HD6850 or HD7850 once I feel the HD5850 is not fast enough. i'm currently running at 1280x1024, so even 1680x1050 is a big upgrade
8. RAM: I need 8GB RAM, because I won't be using a pagefile because of the SSD. DDR3-1600 preferred. Will DDR3 1333 lower my OC on the CPU? I have no idea how to OC an i5/i7, just yet. Remember, no fancy low latency sticks. Something "average"
Note: All these parts will have to be bought from Japan. >_<
