I was able to overclock my 5850 to 1000/1300 at 1.3v's while I was running my other 5850 at stock.

well I can run my 5850 at 1000/1275 with minimum 75% fan 1.3v its stable

(with this setting I can run games 24/7 but I will never run furmark with that overclock!
with that overclock vantage gpu score was 18900 with 975/1250 needs only 50% fan 1.225v and vantage is 18500 and when I dont want the noise 800/1150 with 35% fan stock voltage,with those clocks I run dirt2 and bfbc2 maxed out fps nicely 60 cause I love vsync those higher clocks are just for benching or running crysis when I´m bored

or when I need foldingboost

DaedalusHelios you just need to know that if clocks go higher the less heat it handle to stay stable example:stock clocks it can stay stable 100 celsius maybe core 850 already has less heat tolerance and so on and so on 1000 core from my experience when 80 hits its 100% crashes for me 75 celsius was max temp stable at those speeds!

It reaches 65C max for me while gaming at current clocks. It is idling at 29C.

I keep it at 85% fixed fan speed though.

Sapphire 5870 - 950/1250mhz @ stock voltage
Asus 5850 - 950/1250 @ 1.200v

just to be safe I crossfire them @ 950/1250 @ 1.200v for both

960/1200 1.26v is my max with my 5850.I can't seem to get the card any higher without it crashing.

To get successful tests on unigine heaven on dx11 I run my toxic 5850 at 930/1320 @ 1.088v (can't change the volts yet, but if someone finds a way to I'll be upping those like mad and shooting for higher). On furmark I can run successfully for an hour at least at 965/1365/1.088
Temps never break 65c w/ a fan speed % that matches the temperature so 54% at 54c

it is pretty noisy but it is in a corner with sould dampening in the case so it isn't too bad. But yes it is as loud as my GTX 295 was at that percentage. :laugh:

Pretty normal since that 5870 fan is the same one on the 4870X2. :laugh:

nah i would say the 4870x2 was louder then the 5870 at 100% fans speed.

That have to do with the heat sink design

The 4870X2 cooler has 2 heat sinks in linear configuration and much more turbulence.
