My 7750be lasted me since last summer. I would still have it if the opportunity for the free upgrade to the AII 240 I have now didn't present itself.

I wish I could tell you but I've never had a processor for more than 2 months.

LMFAO!!! I'm sorry bud! But something tells me that you enjoy doing it :)

Since 10/6/2008 - my 24/7 primary rig.

That is freaking crazy man! Nice really nice! Also what is your Highest vantage CPU score with that overclock?

i never had any cpu fail on me over time. been overclocking all my cpus since pentium 60 ..

edit: omg i just realized how pathetic 60 mhz are

I think I was 6 or 7 when those CPU's were popular.... were talking about the mid 80's right?

LOL

I won't have time tonight.... sorry guys but tomorrow when I do get time I will put these up on the original post kind of like a competition Let's see who has got the longest LOL

cpu r pretty hard to kill, never had one die, im thinking of how to get one on its knees, hmmm,,lets see, overclock to the limit, generously apply extra voltage, lunch prime95, wait 10 mins and then take the heatsink off, aaaaa, wait,,it will shut down no? :( shoot

An e6420 2.13ghz I had clocked to 3.6ghz it's entire life, it went on to a friend who used it at the same clock and then off to another friend who put it under some water and punched it to 4.2ghz, still uses it as his gaming system, the chip is pushing 5 years old I think.

That's the latest I have any news of.
Most chips I don't own for more than 3-4 years but I have never fried one, and don't know of anyone I sold them to "generally friends" ever fried them.

All of these overclocks are nice. Though, are we just talking about overclocks in general or overclocks either pushing or exceeding Intel/AMD voltage/temperature specification?

Those that have been run over or just under specifications would be the ones I'd be more interested in. The ones run on or over the limits are the ones that are going to fail sooner than the "normal" period (according to Intel and AMD).

i never had any cpu fail on me over time. been overclocking all my cpus since pentium 60 ..

edit: omg i just realized how pathetic 60 mhz are

 I so remember overclocking using jumpers. Things were so much easier when I only had to choose between a bus speed and multiplier. It would either work or not.

I even looked up the Pentium 120Mhz my parents had to see it took something like 3v! Today we think 1.5v on anything is quite a bit and 2v some run in a suicide run is insane.

To be honest I've NEVER had an overclocked CPU fail on me...

Overclocked video cards tend to have memory failures after a year or two, and I've had that a few times, but never a CPU.

Ran this Q6600 @ 4Ghz (1.5V) for a week, not a single hiccup. Been ran primarily at 3.6Ghz (1.36V) for nearly 2 years, again no hiccups.

Ye I'm also on a clocked up G0 Q6600 now since 2007 - and still going strong...

( got an E6600 in a box as an emergency in case this one ever DOES pop )

But as per previous post I've yet to ever have a CPU fail, And I've also been overclocking since my Pentium 133(160) a hundred years ago :)

It seems the later steps are doing better than the earlier versions. I wonder if anyone out there has like a B1 version that has been running strong.

Just curious????

Been overclocking for ~10 years now. The only thing i have ever had fail on me due to my abusive behavior was a 2x1GB kit. Not due to my behavior was 2 video cards and a DDC 12v watercooling pump(water damage).

I have an AMD X2 3800+ that lasted about five months at 2.9ghz 1.6v. After the five months the best it could do (using different hardware) was 2.6ghz 1.55v. (If I'm not mistaken) The chip still works at stock in a work computer.

I had my E4300 (stock 1.8Ghz) running at 3Ghz from May 2007 till December 2008.
Now I put it in one of my work computers, but I didn't overclock it (bad case, no cooler) and it is still running perfectly fine to-date.

My present E8400 (stock 3Ghz)has been inside my main pc since I removed the E4300 in December 2008. To-date it's been running all the time at 4Ghz, occasionally even up to 4.2Ghz when I want a benchmark.
And for the past 30+ days since I started crunching I've been running it continuously at 100% usage, quitting crunches only when I game. Never complained, and load temperatures never went over 55 degrees.

This is my first decent overclock lol. I've had it since last month.

I really wish I had this computer when I was 12. I wouldn't have been so bored. =P

I had a 386 OC to 20mhz from 16mhz it ran like that for 2 years before I replaced the system with a 486dx2 50mhz that oc'd to 60mhz It Of course that was with a case that had a turbo button which was just a jumper switch

and of course the AII 240 I'm using now it's been at 3.5ghz at stock Voltages from day 1 this is one tough little Bad arse chip..
I'm certain I'm simply at my mobo's limit

No worries bud..... Trust me I also should have learned by now not to answer these posts when I first wake up in the morning.

Do you know how many times I have answered other peoples post when I first woke up a 6:15 am and then just don't make any sense when I answer them.

Some one could ask me an overlcocking question and I would answer .... "The sky is blue" Huh???

My current CPU has had two previous owners ( both over-clocked it) and is still going demi strong!

Had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago but leaving it sat on the side for a few days resting brought it back to life XD

Has 1 core that is letting down the entire thing though else I'd be running it at 3.6ghz @ 1.35 volts.

( all other cores are stable at that speed and voltage, but one fails constantly D: )

I can run it at that speed but the volts/temps arnt worth the increase.

Reaching your left retina.
...W1zzard you are showing your age...;)

Shut up kid!!

Why would I say that? Hmm my CPU that has longer been overclocked is a 25Mhz 486 DX running at 40 Mhz. Ok I was 8 years old back then, and I'm not sure if that can be taken as OCing to be fair since the PC (Olivetti :D) came with a Turbo button that made the CPU run at 40 Mhz. It was suposed to be something to use on short periods of time, but we always had it at 40 Mhz.

Well, it's still alive :rockout: and running in our summer house, because my father likes playing old DOS games. So I say it's 20 years of overcloking that thing. :pimp:

BTW: It makes me so proud of myself to hear that, although not knowing exactly what I was doing, I've been overclocking for a longer period of time than Wizzard...
