So im really bored with my iPhone. and im pretty sure im going to drop my contract when it expires. When that happens im thinking about getting a droid. Does anyone have one? how are they?

Have you looked at the nexus one? It doesn't have the physical keyboard that the droid has but it will be available for all networks within a month or so and is available on tmob and at&t currently (buying direct from google though). It is faster and has a better screen than the droid too.

...i want to make the switch to verizon att doesnt work well in my area and when i played with the nexus i didnt really like it

personally not a mac fan so to redeem myself of course i did. went all the way. didnt even update the baseband. (didnt last 3 hours after i bought it b4 it was done)

on top of everything what it boils down to is i want to leave ATT, I want to check out android. The droid looks cool. and im just kinda bored with this phone.

There are plenty of great apps on the phone too and integrates with google voice too.

sweet. how sensative is the screen? is it hard to touch? is it like a push system like the blackberrys?

On the Droid you can use the calender. It sync's up with Google Calender.

No is has a normal screen like the Iphone, and its sensitivity is just right. A nice soft tap is all it takes to start up an app.

o well thats sweet. One thing about the iphone i love is the screen is perfect imo. I tried some Lg POS with a touch screen and i wanted to kill myself i had to punch it then throw it at the wall before it would initiate a key sequence.

in terms of speed how is it? I hear its fast. Does it need to be rebooted alot?

No it doesn't need to be rebooted much. I have yet to install an app that needed the phone to be rebooted. The phone is pretty much as fast as the latest Iphone. i think they use the same processor.

is the battery good? It says it lasts a ridiculously long time but that usually ends up being a bunch of BS. also not sure how long youve had yours. but does the battery wear fast? like am i going to need to replace it in a year?

I've only had mines since JAN. The batter doesn't seem to be used running out any faster. The main battery eater is the screen and voice calls. It has a net little app that tells me what parts of the phone has used the most battery.

I don't know how much time u talk on the phone. Most of my time is spent using the 3G connection. With phone calls mixed in. I get about 2 days worth of usage time.

If your using google maps while driving The battery won't last every long. 5 to 6 hours

Its been 1 day since its last charge. Voice calls are taking up the most of my battery 33% followed by display 22% and the phone being idle

no i dont call ppl much always connected to 3G though. hows the stand by time? will it sit for a few days? and does it take a long time to charge?

I would like to say the phone will sit idle for at least 3 days. If plugged into a wall it charges pretty fast. You will get most of your battery capacity with in 1 hour of charging.

The Droid is a great phone..I've had mine since December and it's by far the best phone I've owned. I get good battery life out of mine..can't really tell you how long it lasts in standby. I will say that a few days ago I passed out without putting it on charge. Woke up at 7 a.m. with 15% battery, put it on charge and it was at 100% by 8:30 a.m.

The cam is 5mp. Bad at all. I really like the video personally. You can do a Gesture unlock or a simple screen swipe

YES o man if i had to enter a pin id be hacking that to shut it off. so the video does it skip when you record with it? like low fps?

Lol no, it just has a default swipe to unlock. You can change it to a custom one if you like, though. The screen is amazing...even on 40% brightness it's still really easy to see. Colors are vivid. The camera..um..yeah..it's the most lack luster part of the phone. It takes OK pictures in well lit scenes, but kinda meh in low light. The video recorder is actually quite nice though.

yes it is a LED It just sometimes the lighting is a little off when taking a picture. Some of my early pictures had a blue tint to it.
