I had bought my Sapphire 5970 from OcUK @ £542.29 this February, now I logged in to their site and find it at £557.35 :twitch:

Has anyone compared any other prices? Like what was Newegg's last February and if the price changed now?

I think it's just supply and demand right now. low supply paired with nvidias delays to increase demand. That seems like it's a reseller thing and not an ati thing. I bet by the end of the month we'll see some "special sales" on the ati cards to really put it to nvidia

That's most likely OcUK being the bastards that they are. Apparently ATi are going to be doing a price drop on the Fermi launch. Can't say I know the source but apparently he works for TweakTown.

when i bought my 5850 toxic right when it was available, it was $330 U.S. now it's $380 for a price comparison

It's probably the retailer hiking up the price right now. When competition comes out they have to stop charging as much for cards. This whole time they've been price-gouging anyway, and before it ends they might as well try to snag some extra dough.

the most expensive 5750 I saw 4 weeks ago was $149 Shipped now I see them at $169 plus shipping... Same with well Every new ATI card seems the price jumped between 10-18%

Any wheres from $100 to $200 over retail suggested price from ATI! Most are closer to the $200 over suggested price :banghead:

I guess even newegg.com is not above over charging as well as every other etailer out there..You want to see retarded then check ebay :roll:

It's just simple economics. No need to get upset about it. An item's value is what people are willing to pay for it; people are buying at higher prices so the value is such. The supply has been constantly limited on those supplies so naturally the price will increase to cut away some of the demand. Such is capitalism. If it's not your cup of tea then might I suggest staying in the U.S. for 2 more years while we switch to mass socialism

Got my XFX 5850's in Nov 09, £200 each from OcUK. Now, at time of writing this, they are (XFX brand) £251 each.

Now, we can even blame NV for this as they were too late to the table for the retailers to even bother doing competitive pricing. And if GTX 480 isn't as good as people hope, screw price drops, both ATI and NV will play cat and mouse.

Agree with what jasper said. Also, when you are buying cards now, they are usually paired with a game or something. So they up the price, as you are getting 'two' products in one package.

It would only make sense for AMD to drop the prices when G400 (or whatever they are calling them). 'Buy our DX11 stuff for cheaper!'

Now OcUK have dropped the price to £554.99 which is a very marginal drop from the previous £557.35 price when compared to the Feb price of £542.29.

It's just so unfair to people who are pre-ordering their cards right now.
