I'm pretty amazed at this, I used to use Photoshop but had to move onto cheaper alternatives but CS5 looks to be worth every penny if we're going to be seeing features such as these...

I was talking to a colleague and apparently there's a plugin for CS3/4 that cost £13,000 that does the same-thing but I'm very impressed. Unfortunately it's back to Paint.net for me.

Well that's the thing, I needed to know what he was asking. I haven't found a decent alternative, only free alternatives that are relatively good. Nothing can compare to Photoshop (for me).

I'm not sure if you can buy much older versions, I was happy with 7 but when GPU acceleration came out and other such grand features I was gaggin' to get with new set it's just so expensive and I'm not a heavy photochop user to justify the purchase. Rather spend the money on hardware.

Latest version of Paintshop is pretty nice to work with actually, doesn't have this tech though :laugh:

I'm impressed!

May have to download the trial of CS5 when it comes out, see how effective it can be.

The price/value of something is determined by what people are willing to pay for it. There are plenty of reasons why people, especially enterprises, are willing to pay such a premium for Photoshop over all other alternatives.

Using CS4 atm, but i definatly want this when it's out. That's an amazing tool. Like said before though, i wonder how it works on non-sample images.

are you kidding me? do you use photoshop much? this for me is reason to buy CS5. this one feature will save me hours or more a week - not to mention any number of other features they will include, if they've got something this advanced in there.
