so i am getting ready to part out my system. i take out my cpu and start cleaning the thermal paste off the chip, when i notice a bit of darkness on my cpu. cpu has been on stock clocks since the beginning of use. picture:

it's that little area at the top corner. is there something wrong with my cpu, or is it still good?

pins dont seem to be bent, right?

i tried taking it in the light, but everything is just white without the flash. if i can see it fine, and i have horrible vision, then you should be able to see it. look at the top corner to see a slight dark area.

Does it look burnt or just darkened? Oxidized maybe? The darker contacts just look dark, the picture is blurry. Check your CPU socket for bent pins.

You don't need Brasso, I wouldn't use the stuff on a CPU, it chemically burns away the metal. An eraser used lightly will clean it nicely.

Looks like current oxidization on the contacts. Usually means the CPU isn't making good contact with the pins.
