My Heatware (New, but I've sold stuff over LS1Tech and you can find me there)

I will update the thread when units are sold or if I get more.

ADDED NEW TRADE REQUESTS

New Units that were either new-old stock/had a few scratches, or they were previously used in the 80Plus Certification testing (which is done just a stones throw from me) and only have about 3-4hrs use. Most of these you may not be familiar with due to the fact they aren't by a manufacturer who sells in North America. If I dig up who the OEM is, I will let you know. THESE ARE NOT SHIFTY UNITS! They aren't what you'd get in your mom's HP rig  I would not buy these if I wouldn't personally use them, which I will be! I trust them enough to power my new 890GX system.

If it's your first time here, please read the following! Thank you!
NOT INTENTIONALLY HIDING ANYTHING! I've just had this thread going awhile so I'm using this to clean it up, with out actually removing info.
I get these from a gentleman who puts them on a PSU tester to make sure they are good to go. I also do my own testing (voltage and small load tests) to make sure I'm happy with them. I've purchased 7 PSUs from him so far and plan to keep at least 3 of those, so I'm not selling units that I wouldn't trust. He also has said to me that he won't sell me units he doesn't like and if I find something I don't like with them I can exchange it. Again these are units I would personally use! Example is the one I got from him which has a hum when in standby, reason? The fan controller gives some juice to the fan, otherwise it doesn't do it if the power switch is off. (So I got a nice 1200W PSU for cheaper than you can imagine lol)

Some of these may have scratches, but the only two like that are these Channel Wells (CWT), one of which I'm hanging onto myself.

Sorry, none come with a new power cord, as I didn't get one with them. I'll offer a 7-day, upon it's arrival) DOA, but not a whole lot more I can do from there. If it is with in the 30days I get from the guy, I'll be happy to exchange it or refund you. If you want an exchange, most likely won't be for the same model but I'll make sure it is as good or better. Either way though, I'd have to ask for the dead unit back though. I won't be able to pay shipping in that case, but if you are getting a replacement I won't charge for shipping back to you.

FOR SALE

ALL GONE!

Only possibility for future sale is, what I'll from now on refer to it as, the CWT Toughpower 1000W or Abee Supremer 1200W. The latter is the one I mentioned which has the odd whine (kinda sounds like coil whine) in relation to the fan when the PC is off, which actually goes away with in a couple minutes. I've been using that one as I traded the Powerex to GSG-9, and didn't want the big boy CWT on the desk as space is limited  So far I'm happy with it and I may decide to use it instead of the CWT! Time shall tell :)

=-=-=-=
Public Service Announcement: Please be aware that the units that draw more than 1250W from the wall, you will want to be damn careful of the power cord overheating (this is just general need-to-know). Most are 18AWG and, at least the couple I have, and specify on them they are only rated for 1250W. There are some units that have a different plug on the PSU with sideways posts and come with an HD cable (rated for 250v), but none of these I have do, so be careful please! I've read that some of the higher end retails units come with a bit thicker cable. One person had a 16AWG and someone else reported seeing one that is 14AWG. I think the "HD cable" I mentioned is 14AWG. For my 1000W I hacked up one of my cables and fitted solid core, but I don't recommend that as it was a total PITA and time consuming :ohwell: I've discovered that they sell the PSU end of the cable in a split case design so the user can custom make a cable (a few high end audio setups utilize the same style plug), which is called an "IEC Rewireable" as it has little screws in it to clamp on to the wire instead of soldering it in. So I'll plan on remaking it with that end :)

Bumpity Bump! And the CWT is getting it's new paint job :p

EDIT: Aside from a couple pieces of dust/dirt (that I'll sand out and put a 5th, and final, coat on), looks nice! Might have to paint mine!

And give me some sort of feedback :\ Otherwise I won't bother buying more if no one is interested.

(BTW if edits re-bump, I apologize.)

Updated pics for the CWT. SOME small pieces of dust/dirt fell on it during painting, but nothing you can really tell w/o looking closely. I used Krylon Fuzion paint, which I'm pretty impressed with it. It's main purpose is for plastics, but is labeled for metal, wood etc. I think it worked out much better than your general paint and should really resist chipping and scratches. The paint that was on the masking tape amazed me, because it flexed with it no problem. Was able to roll it up in a ball w/o flaking.

Anyways, going to leave the original pics in the main post, as well as update it with the new repainted pics. So you can see a before/after. I'm personally pleased with the outcome and will be painting mine with it.

And the new ones:
Repaint 1, Repaint 2, Repaint 3 (heh Sorry about the thumb print, it's not in the paint though and I'll wipe it off before it ships)

Well I have it listed @ Anandtech as well, and there is similarly no real interest. There are at least a few posts by folks lol That is about it.

Dinner time bump!
CWT still -$20 off
Scythe now -$5 off!

Don't hesitate to make me an offer folks. I might just surprise you and accept your offer!

I'd be willing to trade the CWT for 2 or more like-capacity HDDs Preferably 2x 500gb. Maybe 3x 320GB WD Blacks to run in RAID as I've never tried RAID Before :)

Since you have a cabin on Funny River rd (Kenai, Alaska), I though you would enjoy this pic from several years ago. It is not me but a friend of the family:

Have to love the Kenai River:toast:

That Trout is a beauty! Though the picture quality also helps it quite a bit, really shows to rich colors!

This is also, coincidentally, a friend of the family heh He would be smiling, but @ 10lbs+/ea... well you can figure out why he isn't

BTW just to stay SOMEWHAT on topic, I noticed a nifty little feature about thi\s Powerex. When you power the system down it has a timing to keep the PSU's fan on for about a minute or more to cool the unit down :)

Good collection of PSU there Formula:toast:

I know! lol I also got 2 "dead" units from the guy, which ended up not being dead >_> But just in case I'm not going to bother selling them just in case! The one is a HiPro 450W, nice little thing, will work great for the neighbor's PC! Then a Amacrox 650W modular (but I didn't get any of the mod cables with it) that I'm not all that thrilled with the internals... I mean for starters, it is LITERALLY a re-badged FSP unit, which I like FSP don't get me wrong... But this isn't your typical rebadge where Company B buys a plain-jane unit from Company A and does their own little thing with it, puts a case around it and markets it. This thing was a 600W unit that may, or may not have, been tweaked to do 650W, WITH THEIR OWN STICKER ON TOP OF THE ORIGINAL FSP STICKER!!! :shadedshu They could have at least made their own sticker bigger than that of FSPs! FSP = Blue, theirs = black, and was like 1/2 a mm smaller in size so there was this thin blue line around the sticker that stuck out like a sore thumb lol Shame on you Amacrox :slap: Oh I forgot, that unit is going to become a bench-top power supply for random projects :p And I'll maybe mod the modular assembly into another PSU or perhaps into a case.

Yep, theres are a lot of oem psu out there. The one that popular is with name brand sticker slapped on it:D
My Zippy Emacs 850Watter still full of juice after 6 years, from FX57 to E8500 to 965 and countless CFs & SLIs:)

My Antec is at LEAST that old, err was haha It had swollen caps and I'm pretty sure it's the cause of the DFI S939 board no longer even powering on >_> Verdict is still out on the Gigabyte S939 :\ For all I know it only ate the CPUs (either both or both boards are bad, or I guess all 4) and it was CWT made :p But I hadn't heard of 90% of the companies out there until I recently was in need of a PSU and started researching. Someone that I would have steered clear of just a few months ago, I know is either the same unit with a new name or an improved unit with a new name :) Though sometimes there are those who take a good thing, make it "better", which ends up being a bad move because then it fails for a reason that is not the fault of the original manufacturer. That's why I won't bother letting that Amacrox do anything but power things that aren't of huge importance to me heh If it didn't have the original FSP sticker, I'd still have seen on the PCB where it is clearly marked on the "600W" box.

CWT 1300 is a relative to the Corsair HX1000:D

Yep. HX1000, Toughpower 1000W and PUC1000V-S are almost 100% identical :) (NSpire has one too, but I haven't read anything about it.) Though interestingly they all apparently are the same as the 1500W when it comes down to the components, and the reviewer theorized it was just a matter of what their OCP/OPP setting is set to :p SO if you knew your stuff, you could probably convert it into a 1500W. Though you'd need to make your own power cable since you'd over-draw a typical one (all of mine are 18AWG, so I made a new one out of solid-core wire lol [don't recommend it, it's a pain in the ass and not flexible!])
