Two cards?

Is this the new standard? I could only afford one when I built my rig, but the next one will have two. Or do the dual GPU versions do the same?

I'm assuming he's asking if sli or xfire is becoming more the standard to play the latest games just due to their demands.

My answer is I certainly hope not or my PC just got another 350 bucks more expensive lol

no but if you wanna play max everything all aa, dx11 hbao. tesselation, then either a dual gpu single card solution or crossfire

not to mention either a 2gb or 4gb card too to handle the 2560 res better like the 4gb 5970s that are rolling out sometime :eek:

I think he is talking about dual gpu cards, ex: 5970....
He does not have money for the duals as it is becoming a standart

it's times like these that I'm glad I have a 1080i tv that looks like balls when i run 1920 w/ my pc on it so I don't need to worry about the $1000 gpus since they won't help me any

It just depends on type of games you wanna play bru, for eg. all games max settings at highest resolution then yes your gonna need something like, 2 HD5850's or 2 HD5870's in crossfire or a HD5970. :toast:

I know games are getting prettier and processors are getting stronger. That had me thinking dual GPU/dual card setups are the way of the future. Having everything cranked at 1080p probably does require that. It seems like something that will eventually become a standard.

You could be right, who knows these days, it does seem to becoming popular as software does get better for it, I guess we will have to wait and see but anything more then 2 video cards in your system these days is overkill, well to me it is. :toast:
