Thanks for that...Seem like sites reporting HTT clocking issues are off thier rocker...I seem to recall someone saying 235HTT would be hard...

That said, this type of overclocking will be limited to Black Edition models, due to HyperTransport limits. As with the original 65nm Phenoms, these new 6-core CPUs will hit around 230MHz on the HT clock before refusing to go any further - so you'll need to use multiplier overclocking, which requires the unlocked multiplier you get with a Black Edition CPU.

Bit-tech, today.

At this time, we can’t go into any more detail about voltages or motherboards used.

No kidding......no board maker wants to admit they aren't ready yet!

HTT >400 no problem with a few 890GX/FX board

Xs doesn't seem to have this issue on 790's either.

Also remember later phenom 1 overclocking was not htt limited as much I hit 275-300htt on a ch2 with a much later bios and 9750 so we see way high htt in the future

Still, 255 is far better than Bit-Tech was hinting at...250x15 is 4ghz. I think 300x12 would be ideal, as turbo should then hit 4ghz.

I wonder why they posted that...like 450HTT isn't that big of a deal on Phenom2 under cold...so...

4ghz would be fine with me aslong as it would be stable 24/7 at that setting. I want to wait and see how these do now before i sell my i7

From what I can tell in talking to a couple of people with chips, 4ghz and 2000mhz mem should be doable on most cpus, provided the mobo is up to the task. Hence my lack in interest in the CrossHair IV Formula, and why I'll take the CrossHair IV Extreme. I don't mind payig a bit more if it's gonna help.

If THAT doesn't happen, then i7 is coming my way...

my 790GX wouldn't go any higher..:ohwell:

You know how this works allcomes down to the mobo :) 4ghz on a ch3 isn't the same as 4ghz on a gb or an msi

Ill let you know what it looks like on ch3

heh. Me too..so we'll see who gets the better chip.

Now that I have all 4 sticks of DominatorGT's, my current 955 @ 3.6ghz needs .5v less on cpu(1.325 now), .125v less on CPU/NB(1.2v bios now), and DRAM @ 1600-6-6-6 is 1.6v. Still hitting of 50c loaded un TRUE, but that's fine with me.

So, it seems like Crosshair 3 has already been tuned, the best I can tell...2 sticks of Dominator GT doesn't clock as well as 4.:wtf: Go figure...

:respect:

Anway, I just need the board and cpu, got everything else all covered now...altohugh my wallet's gonna get a little lighter...but if need be, I can always sell of one of my Gibson Guitars ...almost considering it now, for i980X...

Too much money though:(
We can get X6 1090T BE plus an HD5970 with that much:D

True enough. If it wasn't for that, I'd already have a chip. No employee or student deals for me...so no $600-$750 EE chips any more!

That's why these chips are so exciting, as the per-core power consumption had been greatly reduced...gonna get 3.2ghz 6-core @ the same 125w of 955BE(which is also now reduced to 95w).

Cool stuff, isn't it?
