I was a beta tester for it, and then last week tuesday the UI updated nothing changed except the beta tag in the upper right hand corner went away. And according to the update notes I got, the UI update has been available since April 15th.

well i've noticed one problem so far...

when you mouse over the GENRES tab/button and start to move down the list instead of being able to mouse over the rest of the list it goes away and the scrolling games that are "now available" and "pre-order now" are selected.

also haveing trouble selecting and viewing games vids/pics on the store pages.

also, when will they have steam remember your birthday? and have they fixed it so its not always using internet explorer when it opens a web page in a new window? since i can't get anything to open i cant see for myself

lol nevermind. apparently it didn't finish updated and had some sorta hybrid thing going on between versions... working great now! still wish it'd remember my damn birthday tho, tired of putting it in all the more "mature" games.

I loved the beta and I hope they keep improving the software, I think i was one of the few people that liked the idea of steam and having valve have more control over servers and adding the friends list makes joining friends and such much better.

I have been using the beta for a while as well. I like old Steam better, but oh well, this works just fine.

I know what you mean peeple - stuff could be found more directly in the old version and the list of games was denser, showing more in less space. However, this new version is more customizable, so have a tweak and see what you think then.

You can customise the games list quite a bit, for example, displaying your games according to various criteria, which makes it handy for very large collections.

uhhh. hate it. want the old one back... steam admins on the forums says go f*ck yourself, stick with it.

it seems far too cluttered, complicated, and annoying. why are buttons all over the place? why when i disabled auto play video on product pages, does the video window completely disappear so i cant manually play them?

and since steam supports various skins why the hell isnt this optional?

Honestly? I wish they would just ditch silly skins and use native widgets instead. Custom skins should have died in the last century.

I preferred the higher listing density of my games in the old version, as I could see more at once, but I like the colour scheme and overall presentation better in this one. It's a bit of a mixed bag for me.

theres a way you can switch that, mine started with the pictures for each game, but i put it so theres a list on the side, and theres a big window in the middle explaining the game and stuff. much better than the old one IMO.

ya ive been using this ui for 2-3 months myself.
