My earbuds keep dying!

I don't know what's wrong. I had two pairs of skull candies that died. I brought some v-moda's a couple of weeks ago and now there dead. The only thing I can think of is my brothers computer. He has a MacBook. I don't know if it uses a high jack voltage or what. On all of them, the right bud completely died. I was listening to music with my Moda's, then I let him use them for about 20 mins. Later I plug them in later and dead. I have they worst luck with everything.

I removed the unusual characters from the title, Champ. They cause problems sometimes.

Have you tested the buds on other computer after they seem dead on yours?

I agree with you, sounds like something is taking them out.
Not sure what though, especially if they are dying on multiple computers.
Does it affect a headset or just buds? Maybe they just are not up to the task.

have you tested them with a mutimeter?
reason i ask is you may have inadvertantly tugged the wire out

tbh i've never heard of someone blowing them up ever
i think you've more chance of damaging the tiny amplifier
also have you wiggled the plug while it's still in the socket?

Perhaps he is simply turning them up too loud?

Actually, he just showed me that the plug has to be put in a weird way for it to work. It has to sit almost half out. Sound like the problem. Sadly, that doesn't bring them back. Thanks.
