Well, I think the FS/FT Forum Rules are debateable...

I don't think I've ever seen a thread like this, made to point out so-called "injustices" (or whatever the OP is trying to change) that didn't result with the thread creator being banned. I'm not saying I support anything and am not arguing, it's just interesting.

It had nothing to do with this thread. Please move along, no need to start drama. That's as far as it goes. This thread doesn't make much sense to begin with since people can post right in the "READ BEFORE POSTING" thread with any suggestions or concerns. :toast:

why don't you have it so if someone wants to buy sell or trade,
the thread has to first be accepted by a moderator ?
then all the moaning i'm seeing here won't happen

also i can't understand why members can't have pics ready in the first place,
it makes no sense

do i post a note in the hot girls thread saying pics coming soon ?
no, it just wouldn't work, so why the heck can't others have them ready in the first place?

simple as

have pics ready by uploading them to tpu's image server,
copy and paste image code at the bottom of the page into note pad along with your description of what your selling,
and paste the whole lot back into the thread and that's it

maybe i'm missing something here, but when i do bizaare news over at general nonsense
i usualy press preview post to look for spelling mistakes picture alignment and whatever might be wrong

does that feature not work here ?

Thing is, it's really not an issue. On average we get maybe 1 inappropriate thread a day. There's pretty much always a mod around. I know I check the forum every day. Sometimes things can get missed, but it always gets resolved. For some reason many people feel like when there is some sort of stipulation, they take it personally and dramatically. If anything, that is not needed and that makes our jobs tougher. :toast:

I think that it would be unpractical for the mods to have to check so many threads...

And about the pics, I am surprised about people not having the pics ready... It's just stupid to post FS thread with no pics, or the pics in 5 mins! Just post the freaking thread in 5 mins, when you have them ready!

probably true ^
but i do know of one little thing besides members pressing the preview post button

(but this would mean the boss altering bits), would be a pop up, like if you go to submit post/reply, it pops up asking you if you have all your pics ready and have checked all your spelling and that your information is correct

now i'm sure that could be implemented in the site if the title reads fs ft wtb ;)

Can't we get a "check box" on threads?

Check if your name is written in paper on products.

If they check it, and they don't.. even if they update it after checking.. You can delete and infraction them for it..

Yeah, it sounds to be a pain.. but wouldn't it be a easier enforcement?

Well, I had suggested in the past that we create a checkbox in the FS section that shows the forum member has read the rules prior to starting a thread. From what I understand, this was not an easy thing to do.

I think the only problem with the FS threads is that you cannot change your own title and that would be the coolest but other than that the rules are fine

I knew it was someone that said that.. Couldn't we make up a page that we have to click, in order to view the BST section? stating the main rules then? Or, would that even be harder?

That really shouldn't be hard to do. Click the B/S/T forum and get redirected to the "READ BEFORE POSTING" thread. At the bottom of that thread would be a link to the main B/S/T forum.

Just my opinion...

Sorry, but, I tend to lean toward the opinion; that, there are guidelines, just follow them.
Read and understand them.
Get you sh*t together before you post.
Build your post; check it by using post preview. Check your title.

Now, double check everything.
Hit the post button.

And, if, something is wrong... send a IM to one of the MODs ( erocker, Mussels, or Paulieg ) of the BST threads and let them know, so they can fix it or give you time to adjust it.

I cannot believe they are ogres with ban sticks and would not give you a chance.

I just do not see the problem with the guidelines; also, all this other stuff (adding this and that) will just cause extra work for W1zzard.

I just wish that the op had the option to put up an "all sold out sign".

Just an opinion.:)

How about linking the RBP thread to the "New Thread" button so every time someone starts a new thread he/she is forwarded there and has to press/tick off "I have read and agree to abide by the rules" before being forwarded to the page to construct a thread?

Or, could we even have something in our CP that if we click, we can view B/S/T section, but if in anyway we do something wrong, the person gets a infraction from it?

My opinion: Leave it the way it is. Deal with it. Again, there is no problem with the B/S/T forum. We already have one of the most strict sites for selling items. I don't make these decisions I just have to enforce them. And as someone who deals with it every day, there's no problem and I don't need some more regulations making my life easier or harder. I'll leave it at that.

Well, if erocker (and presumably the other mods) feel comfortable with the way things are in regards to reading/following the B/S/T rules then that's that. And from the looks of it, things have gotten a lot quicker in terms of title changing (probably due to the fact that all mods have the ability to do so now) so albeit slower, it's what the mods are comfortable with so again, that's that.

If you were selling something that is now no longer available, and have admitted as much in the thread, you should be required to edit the original post to either remove said items or indicate they have been sold.

I don't know how such behavior would even be allowed. Last week, I PM'd a guy about an entire WC kit that says is available in his FS thread, he never replied back, and then later updates his thread to indicate the hardware is sold, yet never updates the original post to mention this. For all intents and purposes, the hardware appears to be still for sale.

Well, they need to contact a moderator to get it changed. That is the failure of the seller not the website. Nobody is required to respond to your PM's. If they don't, don't do business with them, simple as that.

Suggestions are always appreciated however personally I don't see the need for anything to be changed. TPU's been up for 6 years now and this part of the forum has been running quite fine as long as the guidelines are followed. Why try to mend something which is not broken... ;)

I'm saying there should be a mention of this in the FS/FT rules. You should not be selling items that are no longer for sale. The rest of your statement has nothing to do with what I said. You're bringing a conversation from the General Nonsense forum now.

I'm saying there should be a mention of this in the FS/FT rules. You should not be selling items that are no longer for sale. The rest of your statement has nothing to do with what I said. You're bringing a conversation from the General Nonsense forum now.

Excuse me? Now you're just trying to argue and be unplesant when I'm taking my time to answer you.:shadedshu The answer is no. The rules aren't going to change to satisfy you.

Might regret this....

So i don't have to read 8 pages, has the ability for the user to change their thread title been raised?

Now I can see why the guy that got banned in the Sidewinder thread had such an issue with some mods here. There's nothing wrong with what I said. There's nothing illogical about it either. If you're still actively selling items in your thread, and you have sold them, then update the damn thread saying so. Is that so hard to understand? In fact, it is common sense and should not have to be written in as a rule for the forum, but apparently quite a few people selling thing have a hard time understanding this.

When I sell something or something is pending- that is reflected in my thread no more than 24 hours after it occurring. In some cases, things are still "for sale" that had been sold for days. And in the specific instance I'm referring to, the seller has had ample chances to update his thread with this information, he just chose not to.

I responded to you and you said half of what I said belonged in General Nonsense. I disagree and found it rude. Honestly If you don't like the way things are run, why stick around?
