In the 650-750W range? I hear the XFX are awesome... the HX 650-750 don't seem to be worth the money... Perhaps a silverstone or seasonic I haven't heard of?

I will be buying from Canada, so for prices, directcanada.com or pricecanada.com

Budget, ~140$, bang/buck = important

TX 750 at 108$ looks nice, would love it if I could connect a 5850 CF setup (a 5850 uses 2x 6 pin I think)

XFX 850's early on took a dump under decent load, FYI. Dunno what the story is with them now though.

Personally, I'd only look @ 80+ gold PSUs right now.

You could easily connect two 5850's to the TX750. It has 4 PCI-E power cables that are 6+2 so if your 5850's only take the 6pin then only plug in the 6pin and leave the extra 2 hangin.

Oh I know, I just want a good bang/buck and high quality PSU... The TX750 is more than fine, just wanted to know my other options though

And could I count it to last me a hell of a long time if I don't stress it much and keep it cool?

I cannot recommend any PSU that blew up for a reviewer, under any circumstance. As far as I am concerned, a PSU should shut itself off before cooking itself.

$140 just isn't alot of money for a good PSU, in my books. I'd recommend only the Antec CP-1000w; you can take a look in windwithme's post today and see it...

The only thing with that PSU is it's not a standard size, so doesn't fit in most cases.

Silverstone 850W Modular Strider is OK. Only 80+ though.

I'm pretty damn picky when it comes to PSUs...the most Vital component, IMHO.

For a few bones more you could get this:

http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=13220AC7547&vpn=OCZZ850M&manufacture=OCZ

But I hate OCZ. Not that they haven't had soem awesome units in the past, they just don't tickle my fancy any more.

I am looking for 650-750W, remember... I find 140$ sufficient..

I want to be picky though, that's for sure

Well, I dunno that any 650w is good for 2x5850(like I said, I'm very picky). The Corsair HX PSU's are really good, if it wasn't for them, then I'd say the TX ones are good too.

nothing better than a corsair for the price? I know corsair's TX line is good, but isn't great... The HX is just too damn expensive... I'll see what I can find at jonnyguru then I guess

For the money, I think the Silverstone Strider 850w plus is the best option. 67a, single rail, 80+ silver.

Otherwise, for the TX, i'd get no less than the 850w. 70A, but only 80+.

Kinda limited based on your choice of retailer too, but thier price on the OCZ Gold is pretty damn good...to such a point I'm really tempted to buy one. Good thing I got other expenses!

Whenever someone is looking for a 750w quality PSU, I have to give a shoutout for my Antec TruePower New :D 62A combined 12v amperage- johnnyguru gave it a great review too.

EDIT: Slightly outside your budget in Canada :(

Get a TX, it's probably the best choice once you consider the bang for buck. Don't ever generalize like "80+ gold must be the best", always look at real detailed reviews like jonnyguru. For instance this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817814019 is an extremely mediocre psu, but you wouldn't think that just looking at the specs.
