Second hand SSD, 6 months old for AUD $325.

Not bad! Realistically those speeds are amazingly fast over mechanical drives.

I had a very similar Corsair Nova that would read at 250 and write at close to 175 MB/s.

And the cost for mine was $350 USD, so does that mean it would be more expensive in AUD or less?

its pretty much the same price but those speeds are great. i was looking into getting one of those or the ocz agility.

umm, $350 USD is roughly $420 AUD

Just installed win 7. SSD in sata port0, I checked TRIM is working.
I've done all sort of WIN7 + SSD tweaks.

Am I good to go? I don't need intel rapid storage tech for single SSD do I?

Is ICH10R an Intel I/O controller hub? How do I check If I've got ICH10R?

Yes your mother board has ICH10R, you dont need to install the raid utility, but you should find the latest drivers for it.


yes the ICH10R is an intel south bridge chipset.
