Internet Lag Issues

Well guys, my internet is being gay. We are paying for 6MB down, and 364KB up from bellsouth. The most I have ever seen either way is the 364KB. I am wondering if there is anything wrong. Because just with my PC and the Xbox on, my internet is so laggy that playing any game online is nearly impossible. But see the Xbox's speed is fine, no lag, just me. My PC is hooked up through an ethernet cable, the Xbox is wireless, we also have a laptop which is wireless, and causes my PC to lag. Please help I am confused to the point of no hope.

Have you called your ISP to complain?

What modem? Have you rebooted it?
What router? Have you rebooted it?
What operating systems?

Try having just your PC connected to the internet, then try www.speedtest.net

6mb line = 600kb/ per second.

uh...8 bits in a byte...so 6Mbps = 750KBps

That is my Speedtest.net results.

As for my operating system, it is Windows 7 64 bit home premium

My modem, is integrated, if that is the right one I get them confused a lot, and this is the specs:

LAN Chipset Realtek 8111DL
Max LAN Speed 10/100/1000Mbps

Router is the one provided by At&t, and according to them, and we tested ourselves, is the only one that will allow us to access the internet. Idk what the specs are, there arent really any on it.

I have tried resetting them both, many times, and as for complaining to the company, my parents names are on it so they are the only ones that can.

no he means the MODEM ie the cable modem the thing that is connected to your router and everything else PC xbox goes to the routers. :toast:

We do not have one of those, this is how it is connected:

Wall-DSL cable->Wireless Router->Ethernet Cable-> My PC
->Wireless Connection->Xbox
->Wireless Connection->laptop

Erocker, how do you connect just to the internet, our internet will only work if we are connected to the wireless router itself and that is the only way.

Just plug the ethernet cable from your modem to your PC.
