Have you got any problems with your card? If you don't,there is no reason to update the bios.

just one, that I dont think bios update will fix, that fan at 40% speed or at 100% do a diference of 3º celcius, from 71º to 68º while playing BFBC2 ( 90º+ with Furmark )
with such temperatures I'm worried about OC

I was about to flash bios just cause I always try to keep all up to date on my pc hehe :)

Which program do you use to see the temps?I think that 70 degrees isn't too much while playing or 90 with furmark. What is the ambient temperature of the room? When you set the fan from 40% to 100%,do you here the fan increase the speed?I have many questions, hehe

I use ATT to see the temp, enabling Flash OSD
the ambient here is about 20º at now ( winter )
my CPU Pentium E8400 3000@3600 work 33º idle, and about 50º at full speed using prime95 ( very nice I think :) )
yes, i can hear the fan a bit louder when increase the speed, so I think that at least it increasing the speed, not sure if is using the full fan potential trought
I'm using CCC to change the fan speed

ok,if you set the fan at 100% and run the Furmark, your card reach the 90 degrees? Then something goes wrong.Which driver are you using? What brand is your card?

My vapor-x does 63C while playing and that's something like 45% fan speed. Check contact.

using 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6 had always the same temps
I have sapphire 5770 ( normal one, not vapor X )

Onboard, did u tryed manually ajust to 100% fan speed to check the diference on temp ?

EDIT:

forgot talk about, after the furmark tests, I changed the "glue" ( dont know the word in english, is that thing betwen GPU and squanderer )
but nothing changed, same temps =/

I'll do a test. my bro have a 5770 sapphire too, but for some reason, his fan and squanderer are different, will check his videocard temp, maybe all "normal" 5770 sapphires have this temps

about the furmark, when it reached 90º I turned it down, maybe and probably it would go higher hehe, but I dont want see my gpu toasted

Louci4r:
will check contact tomorrow, too tired today, so I return

Yes the fan speed does a difference, but not going to listen 100% for long xD

Is yours the egg cooler or reference? I'd think the egg shaped cooler, as reference also has a vapor chamber and shouldn't reach those temps. Should look like this: http://www.racunari.net/slike_big/big_Sapphire_HD5770_new.jpg If it looks something different a picture would be nice.

The "glue" is themal paste :)

So, if you have new thermal paste and contact is good, remove the plastic shroud from the cooler. That has been a few degrees cooler option for those with that heatsink.

Anyhow, FurMark is meant only for stability testing, games are what matter and those temps aren't at all bad.
