Sell 5970+5850 and get GTX400?

Should i do it? or wait for GF104 512 sp card

Also new board and cpu are coming RIIIE and 930

Edit: Money would be better spent on a nice D0 920/930...much better clocks at better volts usually; unless your C0 is a monster and that's quiet rare.

Why? There just is no point in this kind of swap, your setup is unbelievably powerful. Switching to any other setup, even if slightly faster just simply isn't going to matter at all. And you will most likely end up losing quite a bit to even make the switch. Keep what you got, it's awesome.

I can do it without spending anything.

I can sell my cards for 2150 over here and get 2x480s from you guys for 1700, or 3 470 for 2000.

Though i would have to get lucky and dont get taxed, but i usually dont and if so not that much.

I had 3 470's in one rig, they were hot. Two 480's or 3 470's will rape ur ATI setup, but at a lot of expense, and in games who really cares as long as it plays. If you are doing it for benches, go right ahead, but ur combo will handle anything out there now anyways and it wont hit ur wallet

Sneeky did a test with a Kill-a-watt showing that it hit 1050w peak on benching his 3-470's 2-470's.. So you need something more.. That was with the same psu that you have.

Shocking.

Makes Silver and Gold rated PSU's look pretty good with nearly 90% efficiency. Compared to the 83.99% typical (81.95% avg) the older corsair PSUs like the HX1000 and my TX750 get.

3 cards triggered the "crowbar" (just learned that term today). In reviews I see a bit of overclocking, not what I would call extreme. Once I went water, I went even further on clocks, I bet I could spike over 1100W as it sits now.

@ 1050W cards were 800/2000
now with water they run 24/7 at 825/2140, so I can only guess I pull an extra 50W now.

sneaky and douglatis why not u two bench the setup and see who will be the best, the sneaky rig or doug rig( and i really want to know who is the most powerful , HD5970+HD5850 or 2X GTX 470)

and doug u can decide if it worth it or not based on the bench, thats why you will be satisfied or if not just grab 2X GTX 470+ buy 1200 watt PSU

tbh, I really don't trust benchmark program, because it quite different than actual game.


if you don't mind please benchmark it with a game, but if you can't do it I can understand, I just curious who is the best setup.
