FPS games that make you sick?

resident evil 5 made me toss chunks 3 times in 1 night..2 times after id given up playing.

I also suffered feeling sick trying to play RE5 and gave up playing the game after about 2hours coz I had to do what I said in post 47 too often and it was annoying. Haven't played the game since, even though it's installed. Simply awful camera angle, horrendous!:shadedshu
I've never actually puked from a game before though, never let it get that far.

RE5's camera angle was so horrid I gave up playing it after 10 minutes, good thing I tried it out on my brothers PC, because I almost paid for that crap.

I have NEVER gotten sick because of a computer game. The longest I have played was for 17 hours straight after taking the SAT. It was a long day for me. Still did not get sick. I played TF2 for that long.

Tight spaces + hyper running speed = fail. lol

Thankfully, I've never had a problem with motion problems when playing games.

It's probably because I spend most of the time staring at the dead body of my character and the respawning/reloading screens.

One of the first things the Air Force does with fighter pilot candidates is to subject them to all kinds of high stress and high g tests. Some people just do much better at those kinds of tests. There isn't anything you can really do to make yourself better at them. You can want to be a fighter pilot from the time you are 6 years old, but you can't will your body to take 9 g's for a short period of time without passing out if it isn't capable of doing that.

It's the same thing here. If those games just make you sick, you just need to move on and do something else with your life, no matter how much you want to play them. Implementing some or all of the good suggestions in this thread will help somewhat, but the core problem will never go away.

Yeah RE5's camera angle is horrible, I hate that very close over the shoulder, its actually worse than 1st person, basically the same angle in RF:G and that game gets me sick very quickly.

The main games I play are FPS and I've never experienced any motion sickness from them until Fallout 3 - that game actually makes me light-headed and wobbly.

When I feel like that, I pause and go outside and look at something in the far distance, that helps relax my eyes and then I get back to it.

If you feel really ill, then take a long break outside, throw your shoe at some kids or something and then rehydrate with some tea - tea makes everything better.

Try playing in black/white. Could be certain colors spectrum are messing with your head. If that helps then try to figure out what colors are causing it.

I got sick from playing Just Cause 2, I recover by going outside and getting some fresh O2 and drinking a water.

I to have problems with sick feelings with certain games. Games that put me high in the air looking off of tall buildings are the worst for me. A trick I learned in the service is peppermint candy. I used to get very sick riding in helicoptors. Never got sick on planes or jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft, but helicopters got me everytime. Peppermint calms the stomach and helps with queezyness.

Borderlands + default FOV + widescreen monitor = win. Think it was something like 30min and I was really nauseous. 110 FOV and no problems for hours.

Fix to games not supporting FOV adjustment would be to run them on 4:3/5:4 resolution without stretching. Might still be too zoomed in, but at least better.

I thing you could replicate the gaming sickness with binoculars. Just put them on eyes and walk around for a while. That's how it feel in game with too low FOV

Oh and I do get carsick, can't swing for long at all, instant sickness. Haven't gotten seasick ever though, but those have all been really big boats.

I know its not FPS but for some reason Batman Arkham Asylum makes me sick, along with other 3rd Person shooters out there.

My bro has the same thing with FPS shooters and vaguely explained to me that it was because the brain is either trying to slow down or keep up with the image... sounds like a myth but it could be why its incurable. Maybe locking the game to a lower frame might help with the motion sickness ie. 30fps.
