I'm gonna build my new pc. And i'm wondering if phenom II 925 could go with the hd 5770, gtx 460 or hd 5850 . And will 6GB DDR2 800 be better than 4GB DDR3 1333 ?. One more question i need the answer is that: Do i have to pair the nvidia card with intel processor or ati card with amd processor ? :banghead:
P/s : I'm totally new to computer hardware. :D

Howdy DTAT!
the Phenom II 926 can go with any Video Card. As for the RAM question, more doesnt equate to better. I would imagine that the 4GB of DDR3 would perform better then the 6GB DDr2 if left at stock speeds. As for the Video Card to CPU... it doesnt matter what combo you use.

That should answer the questions but the other TPU'ers can feel free to correct any info that I may have given that is incorrect! :toast:

Unless he is into some heavy duty media manipulation, i doubt that 6GB's of RAM would be worth it.

Thanks. Actually i don't do anything which is too " heavy " on my PC. I just play games mainly ( 1600x900 res ) And st watch HD movies. So if i pair a nvidia card w amd cpu, i can't go CF right ? And does the cpu clock affect the performance ? ( Cause i see the only difference between the 925 and 945,955,965 is the clock )
P/s : Is gtx 460 1GB ver worth buying than HD 5770 and HD 5830 ? What ATI card is close to gtx 460 and gtx 465 ? And what intel processor is close to phenom II 925 ? Is it economic to buy amd combo ? ( I'm sorry for asking to many questions, cause this is the first time i buy hardware myselft )

if you go intel most 15/17 boards will do both xfire and sli. if you go AMD proc you cannot SLI nvidia GPU's but you can crossfire ATI GPU's.

second. i would go for the faster ram.

third. this should answer most of your 460 questions as well as provide links to similer reviews.

hope that helps a bit.

Intel chipsets like P35/P45/X38/X48 (Socket 775) will only run Crossfire and some P55 / X58 can run SLi or CF. The Phenom II 925 is not faster than a Q9550,about 5-10% slower), and is comparable to an Intel Q9400 (Socket 775 Quad core with 6MB cache) or something. I wouldn't switch back to Intel. The Phenom is easily overclockable. Also don't forget to fill in your system specs.

Oh i see. Actually it's just my plan. What i'm going to buy is: Giga 770T-UD3P ( biostar TA785G3HD ), phenom II 925, 4GB ddr3 1333 team elite, psu acbel R8 II 600W, msi gtx460 cyclone 1GB, i reuse my ODD and HDD, and huntkey case.
P/s: Do i have to buy a aftermarket cooler for phenom II 925 ? I do plan to OC to 3.2 or 3.4Ghz only. Will the stock cooler do the job well ?

Might do well but I wouldn't count on it. Go for a Scythe Mugen 2 bang for buck.
