WTH are the ATI 10.7 Drivers?

Im sitting here on the ol trusty CCC 10.4 cat's and just itching to try the newest driver for the 5*** series gpu.

Has anybody found a leaked driver?

10.7's? anybody?

there were i believe 10.4a,b,c's or whatever, and 10.5.. mystery drivers, and official 10.6.. what are you waiting for.. 10.6 are great imho

10.6 is the worst I've tested yet.... cant up the idle clock...

Im on a clean OS install and using a 5970 gpu just don't work.... the 10.5's were ok but still caused lag in all the games I play... 10.4 is the all around best for me ATM :cool:

perhaps the 10.6s are meant for single GPU cards, TBH the bridge chip on those boards is what bottlenecks them so much, probably don't take time to analyze them for driver optimizations if needed.

TBH With You I think AMD needs to Focus on the Single GPU boards first, then the Dual GPU boards and then the Crossfire Modes for each.

Cat 10.7 are suppose to be out on the 26th. The best drivers for CF were Cat 10.4. So if you have CF and are experiencing issues use that driver for now.

I have a 5970 & am on 10.4's also. So far these have worked the best for me too.

I'm sticking with 10.4a's until something comes along that I need to use that doesn't like them. I find no point with updating drivers every month.

the idle clocks were raised to address a dual monitor issue, one i was actually having with my 5870's in crossfire, one monitor was just a slideshow with the previous drivers.

upon testing though i found that i couldn't play bfbc2 with the 10.6's so i'm on 10.5 now myself, i feel your pain full, i really do.

ifyou wherehaving to put up with £700 pounds worth of screen tearing shite like we do, you too would be longing for a set of drivers that work. now that surround vision is up and running on nvidia with no 60fps vsync issues I'm seriously thinking of moving back to nvidia if 10.7 end up like 10.6.

take note ati. you now have a real threat on your hands. 2x 470 gtx cost less than 2x5870 and are way,way better.

The 10.7 betas are out, been using 10.4 for crossfire 4850 in bfbc2.

cf with 10.6 worked in a weird way: i'd get benefits, but ONLY if I put abs max gfx settings on..one card = 20fps, cf = double...but not single fps gain with normal settings.

and also, agreed. crossfire users NEED the latest drivers, or else their games only run on one GPU.

we also get some cool shit in drivers, like 10.6 adding the fancy new media options for enhancing playback.

Bad experience.... couldn't enter Windows (7 , x64), atikmdag? bsod...tested safe mode, repair etc...nope... bsod upon windows start.

I took one of the two HD4850's out and OK... Will re-install and test again...

maybe there is another thread regarding this specific driver, continuing there
