edit - I take that back - I'm thinking of building a new rig and have been debating with going DDR3 or using some of the DDR2 from an existing rig. I guess I would consider a set of 4 x 2 gig DDR3 that was at a better speed and make up the difference to you in cash.

I've never tried to oc memory. I may have tried once 3 or 4 years ago but I'm not sure.

I always thought/believed that there wasn't a lot of room for overclocking memory - that the chips could handle their rated speed but not much beyond that.

Even when I learned better, I still sort of believed that and never looked into it.

The point is, they should do as well as any other used set - I just have no idea if people have had good luck with them.

I was able to overclock my cheap crucial rendition 800mhz up to 1020mhz. There is rtoom enough for it if the mobo can handle believe me
