Found an awesome 50 mm fan!!

i was searching the net for 50 mm fans to be fit on the top of my Mini-Tower gaming case for heat exhaust. after going through some fans. i thought the average CFM for a 50MM was 10. but was i wrong!!.

Cuz i found this Delta AFB0512HHB 50x15mm Fan!!

it spins at 6400rpm and drives at 16.24CFM!

so should i go for it or consider other slower ones?? note that i will be having these installed side by side in a pair/triplet.

It's going to be quite loud.

*I did just notice that it's a 3 wire. You could hook it up to a motherboard header and cut the speed in half in the bios (if you have the option) if it is too loud for your tastes.

i like LOUD. i wouldnt mind my case to sound like a jet. anyhoo we have fans in our rooms running all the time for most of the year, so it wont be much.

L = 35cm

but this is only 2500RPM and think that might be a rip off. and its just 5$! and there are a lot of fins.

well looking through 5 pages of 50mm fans I think those are rated the highest. Most others are in the 8-12.5 CFM range.

The fan in Timonthy's link has more blades, so it can revolve slower and produce the same CFM, more in this instance.

but the type of blades(the design) in timothy's fan are used when there is a lot of static pressure required.

well think about it like this.

All fans are restricted right from the jump. Usually its a filter or mesh in front of an intake or the honeycomb of steel for Exhaust fans. A fan with low static pressure is going to feel those restrictions sooner and result in a lower than spec'd CFM rating.

Higher pressure will have a better go at getting closer to the spec'd number with the same minimal restrictions that may cut the first fans CFM by half.

i think i have to buy a local one.

i got 2 local 90mm fans 4500rpm, high cfm and just at Rs.40. thats not even 1USD. and they work a charm!!

I been using these for years, Have some still running that are 7-8 years old now. Get these at Fry's down the road for around $8.
