First, welcome to TPU forums :toast:

Thats a great system you've put together there, but if you want meaningful suggestions from other users it would be cool if you could mention your budget and the main application for this system. That way the guys here are better equipped to come up with suggestions to help.

Peace

Well I am finally upgrading from my XPS 700 will mostly be used for FPS and possibly some DC Universe. Wanted to stay below 1100 this time I learned my lesson on the XPS, it cost way too much and is complete crap now.

Sounds like some good choices to me also. I'm not a big fan of that case but cases really are a "to each his own" thing. I have that same power supply and love it, I'm sure you will too.

Welcome to TPU!

Great choice on the case. As for the PSU, I also recommend you consider the Rosewill RG630-S12 for $50 shipped after promo code. The 750TX is a great model but overkill and significantly more expensive per watt.

So approximately 1000 to burn. You can get a lot of kit for that if u shop wisely. How about the AMD route? You can get great gaming performance at significantly less and it is said that the next gen CPUs will be compatible (can anyone back this up?:D)with current socket AM3 motherboards.

I should have included this in my earlier post—sorry I didn't:

Rosewill RG630-S12 Reviewed at HardwareSecrets

Just so you can be confident it's a good model. I'm not generally one to recommend inexpensive PSUs but that is a solid one with bang for the buck that is hard to beat. I would happily use them in my own systems if I didn't need more power.

Cool.
As for PSU as TIGR suggested it is a bit overkill but I do love my Corsairs so I'd recommend saving 20 bucks by getting the 650TX. I personally owned that one and it was just monstrous.

why a i5 - 760? get a i5 - 750 and OC it.. is less then 200 mhz 12$ more? *yea its 12 but still lol*

also i agree with vincy boy... i would go with an AMD set up a x6 costs the same as a i5 - 750 and less then the 760...

and the GTX460 is sooooo freakin awesome good job there... but yea if u still want a Intel system then go with i5 - 750 def...

other then that ur good man also take a look at this case / PSU combo Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, L...

No difference in cooling ability in my experience. Only use a larger case if I am water cooling or such. ;) (Fans are more efficient in a smaller space)

i live in Nevada with 110+ outside most of the year and I dont have A/C so I really need the extra room inside to move air, I will go with Fan overkill

I have an Azza Fantom 900 that has insane airflow that I am looking to sell. They have it on Newegg too, just dont know how much shipping would be.

The thing I do not like about that Xclio is that both those 250s are for intakes, on the Fantom one 230 is an intake, the other 230 is an exhaust, plus an additional 140mm intake, 120mm exhaust, and the option to add another 120/140mm as an intake on the bottom. Airflow for days.

wouldnt it make more sence for air to leave the case faster if it were smaller? :S oh well i guess i'm an idiot :p good luck on ur hunt for computer heaven my friend :)

A small case would heat up very quickly, like being stuck in a telephone booth for an extended period.

That analogy has been proven incorrect many times. It is kind of like when racers once believed that adding deep sumps to their transmissions they would have lower temps from having a greater volume of fluid. In the real world it became apparent that it only took a short period of time for temps to rise to the same levels as the stock sumps. Then in desperation they added fins to the extended sumps...miserable failure.

A smaller case with less fans will move just as much air at the same temps as a larger case with many more fans. I just do not see the need for a larger case unless space is needed for extra components such as radiators, pumps, ect. :)

Hmmm, I'll have to look further into that. Don't think that will change my preference from mid to large cases with plenty of large fans though :D
