I was wondering how many people actually use bluetooth with their computer and what they were using it for..

If you use bluetooth please can you let me know what you use it for because I have not been able to find a use for it other than the thought of wireless headphones for when I'm cleaning the house...

So, what do you use BT for?

For mobile phone do you use it for like sending mp3's to your phone or for using you PC as a speakerphone type deal?

I've been thinking of getting as BT mouse for the convenience of it.. they're pretty expensive though.

You can back up your contacts etc via bluetooth on phones.

Will need to download the required software for your particular phone, but handy none the less.

Yeah I've used Bluetooth to transfer various files (info and multimedia) between my cell phone and computers. Was going to try using it for VoIP with a couple Bluetooth headsets I have for my phone, but haven't yet.

i use it for auto syncing contacts mostly, pics and MP3's are a bit slow - they work better over USB

I use it as a mouse (Sony Ericcson w810i) and as a WMP remote when I'm in bed watching a film.

I use USB. Wired connections are faster and more reliable. Why not just plug in if you have the cable. It also charges the device (sometimes) when I USB connect. When bluetooth can wirelessly charge, I'll use it. They will have to rename it redfang by then or something.

I do generally prefer wired connections and yes they're faster and more reliable—in my case, I got a Bluetooth adapter because it was cheaper than getting the USB cable for my phone and I could use it with multiple Bluetooth devices. So it depends on your situation and priorities.

I use to use my cell phone for internet on my PC. I would tether it with blue tooth.

There are also controllers that are blue-tooth.

Distance from your PC is also a factor, my USB cable won't reach from my PC to my bed!

I use BT for remote control apps on my phone (basically uses the touchscreen on my phone as a mousepad).
I also use it for syncing data between phones, wireless headsets and best of all, I use my phone as a bluetooth HSDPA modem with my laptops bluetooth. Handy when I dont have fixed-line internet access availible.

Do you have a link to your BT WMP remote?

No, I use a Belkin BT receiver and BT my phone to that and select the remote control option. When connected, my phone gives basic WMP commands; play, pause, prev. and next track.
It's not really a WMP remote, I just call it that because the buttons don't do anything in VLC or MPC (the only other players I use).

I was using the bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse from Logitech but since I've gotten into more FPS, fall and winter are coming :(, I went back to a wired mouse and keyboard. I now use the bluetooth adapter mainly for backing up my contact list from my cell phone or transfering pictures from our camera and cell phones.

Yeah, I only use the iPhone for that sort of stuff...I do not have it activated to use as an actual phone, even.

Try with any phone, it's just one of the services available on your phone while bluetoothed. You don't need the software/drivers for your phone either.

EDIT: Scratch that, I DO need the drivers for my w810i installed to use the remote service.

LOL this is my phone. It doesn't have many features.

There was a time when I was a slave to my phone, I had to have it all the time.. nowadays I never even carry it with me.. it's only here to order pizza and occasionally call work and tell them I'm going to be a few hours late. Maybe one day I'll need a cool phone again...
