So i think im going to start saving for a water cooling loop for my 470 or 470 sli. however i think water cooling my 470 now would be better then when i get another i can just add that into the loop.

Heres what im looking at.

EK FC 470 Acetal block

Swiftech MCP355 w/ XSPC res combo

XSPC 360 rad

Compression fittings(if i feel like spending that money)

Distilled water and PT nuke

not sure what color tubing. Definitely dont want red. I was thinking White or black. Take a look at the picture of my computer here and tell which color you think would look the nicest.

NOTE: this picture is when i had a HD5870

Sounds like a perfect loop for two cards. I'd go with white or black tubing. :)

I think it would look very sharp if you could match your tubing to the color that shows through from your back panel. Or else paint the back panel so it is the same color as your tubing.

Painting the back panel white (inside) with white tubing would look very nice.

Just go with what you would think would look good. You're the artist in this situation and a case mod is a reflection of yourself in many respects. Do it how you would like it since you're the one looking at it everyday. ;)

yeah. i would like the contrast of the white though. if i put black in for the tubing it would be to much black

what about fittings. if compression fittings go over my budget what should i get??

This part. No matter what color you decide, it would look neat to match that part that shows through with the tube color.

yeah i guess. im kind of starting to see it now

whats the benefits of having a res pump combo instead of them separate? less restriction??

would i need a mcp655 pump if i added another block for a 2nd gtx470??

I would just to be safe with the flow....
I have a swiftech micro res plus a mcp655 variable pump and a DD actel block (gtx470), plus a heatkiller cu on my i7 rig. It keeps everything below 50c NP running folding@home 24/7, with the pump on about 4 on the dial. But I have a XPSC extreme dual flow quad rad with 4 120mm fans also that cools the whole thing.

I got this one as my backup pump, only had to use it once but it works great and it has a nice price...:)

Great prices here also....

just how much better is the MCp655 compared to the MCP355 with res top?? will the flow really be that bad if i decide to go gtx470 sli?? because i dont really have $100+ just for a pump and res since if i got the mcp655 and put a res top on that it would be like $110

A MCP355 will handle two GPU blocks and then some easily.

i dont get people why put on some waterblocks on cpu or gpu when PC runs ok with air fans.Maybe less dust on hardware but I can do cleanings 1nc a month.its good only for OCers and a good air fan can do good OC aswell. So my conclusins are would never buy water cooling system for my PC.It taks time to set up it takse more space because of radiator who mostlly doesnt fit in case.so no
But your cooling loop looks cool. :)

okay well if you have been paying attention at all look at my system. i have a HAF 932. it can fit a 360 rad on the top internally. oh and mainly because my 470 has more room to go but temps are stopping it on air so id like to get some more overclock out of it and get it to run at 60c load which is what water cooling can do to a fermi card. obviously your living under a rock or you would know that. (that sounded harsh but honestly)

i also dont mind it takes a long time to set up. its fun to do it

okay well if you have been paying attention at all look at my system. i have a HAF 932. it can fit a 360 rad on the top internally. oh and mainly because my 470 has more room to go but temps are stopping it on air so id like to get some more overclock out of it and get it to run at 60c load which is what water cooling can do to a fermi card. obviously your living under a rock or you would know that.

i also dont mind it takes a long time to set up. its fun to do it

my 5850 cards dont step over 60 on load aswell and my cpu dont get over 46C aswell in games(what is pretty good i dont ned to be 30 or 22C it doesnt give a thing to performance) with air cooling so tell me whats better about your watercolling than my air cooling? And using air cooling it doesnt mean i live under rock.i got OC cpu to 4ghz and its more than enought, and for cards i dont need OC it doesnt give much effect anyways.if i run all games on max with my monitor.

okay good! i like the size of it to. so small!

Yeah, I use a 355 with a XSPC res. top. I'm using 8 90 degree bends, two 120 rads, a 3x120 rad, a CPU block and a full coverage mobo block. Plenty of flow left! :D

im not even on water yet. and you have 5850s those run cool already. seriously you dont pay attention to nvidia stuff apparently their fermi chips run pretty hot but not as hot as what it was made out to be at first but they still do run pretty high up there. and then you stick them on water and they will never break 50c at 850mhz which still pisses all over your 5850s. and overclock a GPUU actually does do a lot, but more with fermi cards because the scaling is a lot better.
