Well how do you think the drivers are made? Know why we have game specific improvements?

For instance lets say the game is StarCraft II. When the drivers detect the game, they will say "OMG Starcraft II," and then optimize for that game, but maybe changing AA automatically, or modifying reflections slightly, etc. So long story short, lots of small changes will give a noticeable increase in performance, maybe even 20%. Drivers are pretty much cheating tools! :laugh:

yup. and thanks to scandals in years gone by, they only cheat in ways that dont affect quality now.

the article is very dodgy, they tell reviewers to disable catalyst AI for testing - which often has a large performance hit, disables crossfire completely, and sure as hell isnt apples to apples since nvidia leaves their 'cheats' on.

Quality is affected as proven in the Crysis tests, where the reflection on the water was stretched on Nvidia cards and correct on the ATI ones. Quality is still affected, you just have to look closely!

Hardly.

Futuremark made a benchmark that used PhysX, and its scores were inflated when a PPU was used.

It is hardly nVidia's fault that they bought Ageia, and turned their graphics cards into PPUs. I'm sure they did all that just so they could cheat in Vantage, I'm sure it had nothing to do with a value added feature they could offer their customers... :rolleyes:

That aside, they both cheat, so get over it.

It probably has, people just don't notice. Would you notice if I turned AA from 2x to 4x? I mean really? Or would you just be like, "That's how this game looks." How would you ever know if you didn't own both card types and test the game? Tough to determine, unless you study screenshots you have taken on identical hardware (minus cards).

) is a cheater, they had a 6 months advantage over Nvidia:shadedshu in dx11 cards, how they dare to release a better, cheaper and sooner porduct, that's unfair competition :laugh:

It's not nvidia's fault that futuremark chose to use physx in vantage, Maybe its ATI's fault for not helping their customers with the tools to use it
