Man I just did this in about 1 minute ...saw and knew that the dementions did not have to be exactly this and that but the same design and shape and all and my wifi just increased by 20% to 30% ! cost me a piece of cardbard an
empty toilet paper roll and some tinfoil.Works great FOR DIRECTIONAL boost.

I've done this. My family finally decided to take it down once guests kept asking what that "thing" was on top of the refrigerator.

the one in the pic above is giving me a 20-30% increase on two Toshiba laptops about 150" from the router.
Went from 60-80% to 88%-99% on both.The routers a dlink 514.

Nice, I've seen using the wifi key/stick and sticking it in the end of a wire strainer to boost reception.

Imagine using your alum foil/tp mod with the wire strainer mod

For s&g's I just threw up a similar piece of aluminum foil around my external USB WifiG stick, took 1min to make and improved my signal from 11mbit (1bar) to 24/36mbit (3bars). My network file transfers will like the extra bandwidth :D

i've done this sort of thing in the past.

now with wireless N i dont need to feck about, but you can sure get some nice gains for nada - you can also use these kinds of things to get that extra bar of mobile phone reception as well (bounce a signal from the window into the room)

Benchmark Scores Meh benchmarks.
Been trying out these idea's over the last few weeks and the best gain i could get was about 14% but as soon as it was moved a fraction it started to get bad spikes.

I was testing it with a program called Wirelessmon. You can find all these idea's all over youtube including one called windsurfer.

I ended up buying a Linksys WRE54G-RM should have it monday \ tuesday time like hell it was only $15 if ya get your hands on a refurb although if new there like $95 + ^^.
