As some of you already know both MOH and COD:BO are coming out in the next couple of weeks. Some of you may have opinions about Dice and others may have opinions regarding Treyarch. However, when push comes to shove which will you buy?

I think that when you looking for a multiplayer game 2 things should stand out:
-What is the potential for long lasting community
-How dedicated is the company in providing PC support and map pack updates?
There maybe others but those are what I consider. As for price they are both selling for $60 on the PC so keep that in mind if you are not aware. So look out for any pre-order deals that may come up. There is also the concern of dedicated servers. If I recall correctly both will offer them so that shouldn't be an issue (unless there is newer development on it that I'm not aware of yet).

Right now there is a MOH beta that you can actually download right here on TPU. You don't need a key and it's free for the next couple of days only. That will give you some idea of what to expect from MOH. As for COD:BO there is no beta/demo that I'm aware of. If you are looking for any updates between now and release you can follow the MOH forum and COD:BO forum.

Anti-Cheating:
MOH.........PB
COD:BO.....VAC

Max number of players online:
MOH.........24
COD:BO.....unknown

Dedicated Servers:
MOH...........YES
COD:BO.......YES

Mod Tools:
MOH...........NO
COD:BO.......YES

Price:
Both at $60 unless there are any deals

Demos/Betas:
MOH..........Currently having an open beta until the 7th
COD:BO......None that I'm aware of

I'll update this post if more information becomes available.

I will not be pre-ordering either, but I most likely will be picking up MOH later on. But it will all come down to Single Player reviews for it, I will not be looking to that as a MP FPS as I hate rotating spawns. And also the original MOH's for PS1 had amazing Story Modes, so thats what I will be looking for, if they cut it short with some 8 hour Campaign, I will be very sad.

I'll be picking up BC2 Vietnam to keep my MP FPS Fix going.

Thats an awful lot to pay for a 6 hour compaign! Thankfully you have the multiplayer part of the game. :toast:

BFBC:Vietnam would be nice for me though, I love that era! There's nothing better than riding a huey with CCR rocking in the loudspeakers scaring the congs! And I loved the trailer "They will give you a medal GI, but only after you are dead" was epic!

Anyways, back to the point, none for me. For COD, I already have turok if I want to use crossbows and for medal of honor, well I might wait for it when it comes cheap for the single player campaign. :)

I pre-ordered COD:BO in July along with MOH. However, as soon as i saw that MOH was looking more and more like BC2, I cancelled it.

Tried the beta, and although it is nicer, i am sticking with COD:BO for now.

Also @EastCoasthandle, Anti-Cheat for BO takes on VAC and also a special thign that Treyarch are setting up (where by we can report players and they will review the demos from the game that was reported). We still do not know much about this though.

Neither. I pick a few games I like and stick to them.

I have picked Fallout New Vegas and Brink for my games in each quarter, Q4 2010 and Q1 2011 respectively.

This.

CoD got boring after #4, and from what I've heard about MoH, it's a MW2 ripoff with a bit of BC2 flavoring - so I'll pass on both.

Both MoH betas were just awful. Tiny choked maps, total lack of weapon balance, no recoil on any gun and poor character visibility. The graphics are not even that great and neither is the sound. Everyone just clings to a rock like a crustacean rattling off cheap kills.

CoD is something I haven't played much since CoD2. The objective game types are a total joke in pubs and deathmatch is a watered down snoozer because of kill streak rewards. A semi-retarded gorilla could master CoD4/MW2 and it doesn't look like anything different for BO.

I'll be waiting for NS2 and Brink.

Yeah.. lol. All that 'customization' and pink carbines.. reminds me of free online fps from asians

After scoring MW2, I really felt ripped off, and pledged not to score anything with call of duty 'modern' in it. It was fun at start, but then BC2 came, and nothing ever was the same again.

CoD: BO, but probably not gonna preorder and wait till a nice deal shows up instead.

I really hope the hacker problem we got in MW2 will be gone once and for all with the coming of dedicated servers in BO, coz its totally crapping the game.

Neither, I got over the need to buy the "latest and greatest" on release a long, long time ago. I prefer to get feedback from the community before purchasing and games, particularly the shooters of the moment, have become too expensive to take any risks.

And just watch out, I bet a six pack that we'll hear some of these companies blame piracy for their abysmal sales on the pc.
