if you check hardforum's hot deal sections, they find 8800gtx's for 531$ everyonce in a while. that's the best part of the forum there, imo, it's good because they have so many people doing the work for you lol

I think I just might end up waiting until jan. or even feb before buying the 8800gtx hopefully the price will go down by then that way i'll just get 2 lol.

actually, i think dell (of all places!) was having a pretty good deal on them at one time, like $500.

are you going for any certain brand of 8800? msi has one for 620 bucks thats a GTX and the GTS is 450$

we will have to see what happens....i do think nvidia jumped the gun to quick....they should have waiting for vista to be out in stores,and they needed to develop a dx10 driver for it

this in part is true but if you look at it the other way by releasing it before ati/amd and vista peopel who can afford them are buying them just for bragging rights
people are already buying them now wether or not they have a vista driver, also they can sell them at the price they are now and make a huge profit as apposed to releasing at the same time of ati/amd and having to compete, so in theory nvidia(for a very short while) have all the dx10 cards market share, quite clever imo

single, not even close

cf, x1950 can do pretty well, but it's 860$ vs 650$, so no a 30% price delta is not worth it

esp cuz 8800gtx iq is the best out right now

nvidia did not jump the gun, you fan boys. when is it ever not the time to release the fastest product? especially with a hard launch. i for one was mightily impressed. i hope r600 pwns, cuz then competition. the only reason to root for something, as a consumer. if you're an investor, than that's a different story, but that should be said outloud, cuz then you're biased.

The only thing that is now bottlenecking is your CPU (it even bottlenecks with the E6600)

when I ran 3dmark 06 with my 7900 gtx oc's the highest I scored was7500 and that was the highest ever. This card is def. better but the dam cpu score is killing me lol. When I heard that the 8800 cards were big I thought oh yea whatever. Then I got the dam thing and took it out of the box. GD is this card big. :nutkick:
