Replacing Laptop Screen?

A coworker of mine broke her laptop's screen and bought a replacement to do herself. She couldn't figure out how to do it so it's been given to me to look at. I wasn't quite sure myself, and the google is failing me.

It's a Pavillion DV6-3040US. Might anyone know?

Every time I deal with a laptop, I do such, just in case.

I just replaced a screen in a new HP laptop and the model number is on the back of the LCD, i just googled "DV6-3040US screen" and found a couple for 110$, i personally bought my off EBAY for 85$ shipped. it was a win lose deal (first screen came broken in half due to bad packaging and after getting on there ass about it they sent another one better packed and refunded the shipping cost).

The screen that arrived was a great quality LCD and fit perfectly.

This is the exact screen i bought for a DV6-2157WM, from what i gather it is the same screen you need

For me it is really risky to do this.
Plus it's hard to find appropriate hardware, at least in my country.

She bought the screen already and has it, it's the replacing process she was having trouble with.

Oh ok, well i found a service manual for the HP laptop i changed it in and really all it required was taking the keyboard and front panel off to remove the screen cable and screws then it was just a matter of switching the screens and reasymble
