60" DLP 3D 1080p HDTV for $599.99 plus shipping

Tigerdirect has a really good deal on a 3D TV for a really great price. This television is basically a 1080p DLP projector in a box so the best value will surely be for purely movie use. Either way for 3D ready on the cheap and a five foot screen this is about as good as it gets.

WOW, 212W is that with +169w or is that to be added to that too. I guess 212w is not bad though but dam. That's more than my actual computer takes.

The power of the lamp is already factored in the 212 watt power consumption. For a 5 foot TV 212 is right about where it should be. 212 is not a lot for a computer at all. Over 500 is a lot.

After having so many lamps(3 in 2 years at $200 a pop) and an optical block($1800 a pop, this is when I scrapped the TV) die on my last DLP TV, no more crappy projection TVs. At this point DLP is just a way to say "we still used 10 year old technology that breaks all the time".

The power of the lamp is already factored in the 212 watt power consumption. For a 5 foot TV 212 is right about where it should be. 212 is not a lot for a computer at all. Over 500 is a lot.

But to run a computer on 1/2 a KW idle is pretty dam sad. Would like to the actual numbers when in use as they are probably max.

As newtekie1 said all so lamps can be a massive draw back too.

I would of checked more in to this one if i was looking for a new one. Sold out fast too.

The box in particular as it's a discontinued product as per LG's product page, so if it breaks 2 years down the road, I'm not guaranteed a replacement and knowing how people are, they'll likely be on eBay for $500 a pop.

DLP (at least darkchip 2 with dark enhance) + LED lamp = best picture I've ever seen...

And I have seen a lot in my short lifetime so far, roll around helping with home theatre and pro theatre installs on weekends and holidays and get to see the before and after of a pro calibration on all the different technologies.

My Toshiba (40") here stays nice and cool but the ASUS 20" gets frigging hot. It was reconmended to me to keep my TV 6inches of the wall for best cooling and could see that being issue with that one if you had to do the same but shit that tv is the shit lol.

Electronic are normally made for 10 years.. And for 120Hz don't care about, and for LEDs sure they last lots longer but i bet they make other parts so cheap later that lighting will not be a issue.

And as for CCFL cooling it depends on your requirements like if the sun is going be hitting the screen as you will need it brighter. But like said mine runs cool and it's a CCFL they just need good circulation.

Well my 5 year old panasonic 65 inch rear projection 1080I has been great. Not a damn thing wrong with it.I wouldn't invest big money in a TV, you know printed LED screens are comming.
