Going to go over my Issue as fast as possible. If you need more info ask, I will tell you what I feel is needed.
Recently tried installing a 4870 into my computer. The video card gets power and is seated right. Also reset the CMOS, so none of those as suggestions for a fix please. My motherboard is a (Asus name : M2N68-LA - HP Name : Narra3-GL8E). I have Award Bios 6.00PG rev 5.05. HP or Asus offers no updates for this board, as asus just sells the board to HP, and HP does nothing to update it at all. It has a nForce 6150LE chipset. I have tried reseating the card plenty of times. I know it works from tests in other systems. It is not found in Device Manager, and lshw in Linux does not even recognize the card, just the PCIe slot. Yes I've gone into the BIOS and set up PCIe as the main video adapter.
Since the board is from HP the BIOS are extremely tight and locked. I cannot overclick through them and a lot is greyed out. Is it possible that something in the bios would be causing the video card to not work? I can get winflash and make a backup to upload and show anyone that can help me.
Here's all the information that you could possibly need on the matter and my reasoning to wanting to mess with the bios. (Read my post here thoroughly please, you will see someone else said that they had the same problem and a bios update fixed it.):
