People are talking of flashing their 68xx and 69xx cards, so where is the program to do so? Winflash 2.0.1.13 tells me "Critical file missing," and ATiFlash 3.79 doesn't support 6 series cards. I saw a post where someone said to use ATiFlash 3.83, but for the life of me can't find it.
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance!

As of now it is only 6950s that unlock to 6970s. There is no unlocking of 6850s/6870s.

Wasn't looking to unlock anything, i just prefer a BIOS flash over running a program to keep my card oc'd.
However, i do have a BIOS with 1120 sp for the 6850 and did want to play around a bit.
Thanks for the replies.

Edit: That link contains a download for winflash 2.0.1.13, which I've already tried with no luck.

You CAN do that. The bios file can be modified to run different clocks I used to have my ATI 9800 set with a custom bios but I have not since, hopefully someone else can walk you through it.

I know I can, in fact there's a BIOS I modded, on my desktop, ready to be flashed. The BIOS itself is not the problem, it's how to flash to an HD6xxx card.
Winflash 2.0.1.13 is now running without the aforementioned error, but it's reporting my card as a 4800 series. It seems driver sweeper didn't do as thorough of a job as it should have when I upgraded from my twin 4870s to this. CCC, HWMonitor, TriXX, GPU-z, and CPU-z all report the correct card, but CCleaner and now Winflash still see "ATi Radeon 4800 Series."

Can you do it right from a Dos Prompt like we did in the old days?

Never tried. Winflash has done me right since my 9600 back in the day. This is the first issue I've ever experienced problems with it.
I know ATiFlash is a DOS program and I'm willing to use it, but the latest version I can find is 3.79, which doesn't support 6xxx cards. 3.83 supposedly supports them, but the only two links I could dig up for it were in Russian, and their trustworthiness is in question...

EDIT: It seems the cause of some programs showing the 4800 is a registry value in conjunction with said programs reading the registry value instead of the hardware itself. Winflash 2.0.1.13 is now working thanks to tinkering with compatibility mode(don't ask me to reproduce it, somehow the original settings are now working) and has provided successful flashes to my 6850 twice now, once through itself and once through RBE 1.26(which says Winflash is reporting a BARTS core with the correct hardware id). thanks for all your help.
