So as the title suggests I am looking to connect my GTX 470 to my TV to play Blu-Ray films, the only thing is my 470 doesn't have a native HDMI connection so I need a DVI>HDMI adaptor that will handle the audio too.

Is there a special adaptor I need to do this, also I have an Asus Xonar DX soundcard, how do I play my movies over HDMI using the HD audio of my 470 whilst using my Xonar for movies/music and games on the PC only?

DVI cant carry audio, so I dont see a cable adapter changing that. Your probably gonna have to run something from your sound card to the TV as well. But sound isnt an area i have alot of knowledge in.

Any DVI to HDMI adapter should work with your GTX470 and carry sound. Though, it is odd that your card doesn't have a mini-HDMI, what model ASUS is it?

I currently am using this cable to connect my GTX470 to my monitor w/ sound: CABLES UNLIMITED PCM-2296-06 6 ft. HDMI to DVI D S...
and this adapter with a 25ft HDMI cable to connect my GTX470 to my HDTV: BYTECC DVI-HM DVI Male to HDMI Female Cable Adapto...

DVI cant carry audio, so I dont see a cable adapter changing that. Your probably gonna have to run something from your sound card to the TV as well. But sound isnt an area i have alot of knowledge in.

DVI natively can't, but video card manufacturers have been passing audio through the DVI connector for years now.

Apologies all round, seems I DO have an DVI>HDMI adaptor included with my ASUS GTX 470, so as long as I install the HD Audio drivers andf use HDMI through the 470, I shouldn't have to configure my soundcard so audio is played through HDMI?

You don't have to do anything with your sound card. In fact your sound card will not even be used. You might have to change your default playback device in Windows though and change it output to the HDMI sound device on the GTX470 instead of your sound card.
