2011, best year ever in terms of hardware advancement ?

So far this is the best year in my whole life !

Sandy bridge is out, socket 2011 motherboards are not far away, new monstrous graphic cards, SSDs are much cheaper and accessible, new generation of SSDs with double reading/writing speed, more efficient PSU and more big and innovative cases.

Did I forget anything ?

oh and don't forget about the games (Battlefield 3 )

So far what did you like the most in 2011 in terms of hardware advancement ?

SSD's have noticeable improvements with much to grow within the next year. LGA 2011 wont impact as much considering the entire calendar year.

I don't like how that was phrased, but that aside, I agree that getting has-been hits from the 360 and PS3 months after the launch date is annoying. I was pissed when Fable 2 was 360 exclusive, and they said there were no plans to bring it to the PC - and now Fable 3 is still stalled out for us PC gamers... Game Studios see the money on the consoles, not the PC.

Looking back 10 years ago makes me very happy. I just can't imagine how would my computer look like in the next 10 years. maybe 15Ghz CPUs and 24GB rams fully used

Meh, I don't know if x86 based chips will get past 3.8GHz in 10 years - they hit that ceiling a long time ago (2003?) and haven't budged at all... POWER chips have passed 5GHz last I saw - maybe Apple was foolish to ditch that platform.
The real question is will PCs even be relevant in 10 years? Will we be walking around with WiTricity enabled tablets, with 6G or 7G wireless and VoIP video calling? Maybe they'll even have holographic displays... *sigh* Hey, it's possible! ^^
