Homefront - my thoughts after playing.

I instinctively knew this game wasn't going to succeed like some people I know thought. When I first read about it I said "well, at least it's like Red Dawn. I'll wait for reviews." I'm glad I did. I know a guy who pre-ordered the game and tried to convince me to buy it. He failed at the convincing part.

I will list my cons and pros:

+ beautiful game!
- 1 minutes between SHORT MP matches is not nice
- no after match chat
+ many accessible buildings
- but not all

I would like more detailed info/ thoughts on the multiplayer. I generally expect the SP to suck on most games I buy, and if it doesn't, I expect multiplayer to suck. I have yet to have my predictions proven false. (borderlands co-op does not count).

No recoil
No self shadowing which allows the players to stick out under cars and such.
Vehicles are an after thought
Very dated game play in general.
Nothing is destructible
The spawn points have no cover.
The game is epic fail-sauce on deviled eggs.

idk for me I simply have the hardest time taking any game that has NK taking over the world, a country that has far too limited resources to eve take out japan and SK. Yet has the giant China do what? nothing?


if they had swapped NK for china I could have gotten into it. But I can't see myself playing a game where my every thought will be "this is the dumbest plot line I've ever seen in a
game"


my guess is there's some poltics behind this and they didn't want a game to ahve any real political ramifications and instead went with the korea easy out.

Played the game, and it is poor. Single player is short and ho hum. Multiplayer is a camping fest and very CoD like.

Yeah they will be more inclined to drop a old technology nuke on our troops in South Korea so we renuke them and then rebuild them like we have everywhere else tear up. That is one thing that drove me crazy about the "fightem there or fightem here" saying during Iraq. Like the Ragtag Arab's have enough resources to invade the USA. Yes they can send a few crazies, but hell we do a pretty good job and raising home-bred ones right here.

I wouldn't say huge turd. Soldier of Fortune Payback was a huge turd. I paid $40 for that piece of shit. Frontlines I got for $20 and played the single player through. Not epic, but entertaining enough. I hate the way the vehicles handled and this engine seems to mimic that which is bad, but I will buy this when it hits the bins. One Plus if sounds are important to you Frontlines had great Digital audio and I'll assume this does as well. I'll pay 15-20 bones for it.

There is only one single reason why this game was hit bad.

It didn't have "Call of Duty" in the name, so the fanboys didn't buy it and instead bombed it because it could have been what Modern Warfare 2 and BlackOps will never be.

Makes more sense for China to just buy the US, which it is already in the process of doing, than conquer it... too much legwork, and then you still have to deal with the population itself.

After sleeping on this when i finished the game.
Seems the game is going to be a DLC nightmare just to finish SP,Why else would they leave us hanging like that....I feel like i was robed ,Pay $49.99 on pre-order and then in a few weeks get hit up for $15 dlc to continue the game.

Also played a few hours of multi player,I`m like who beta tested this,it is bad only thing that ia bad is the under powered guns ,the over powered tanks that take like 4-5 maybe 6 rpg to destroy with no tracer darts ?Already notice the beta testers to ,they will be the guys t max level out and seen one or two with aimbots. That says so much.Had one guy stand in a spawn point just head shooting us ....fun ....f,,, No,the multi is based on what the beta testers wanted not what a gamer wants IE BC2 players.

So if you guys want to try this when the game hits $15 bargain bin go ahead ,I only got it for Metro2033 which is more fun in single player then this.Just make sure if the DLC for Home Front is included say from steam.

In few words, it is like extra maps for BC2, it is very similar.

The Island MP map is damn nice.

NO just thunk of the single player ending ,Come on honestly you think a war that goes from California to the Mississippi river is going to end with them taking back San Fran? That just means at THQ Hey lets sell DLC and give them the rest of single play and make $$$$$$$

no DLC's are planned at least not that I have been told. And I did ask about that. there will be added mP maps and maybe weapons but thats its.
